Hey All,

I'm sure everyone is busy with autumn and upcoming holiday planning. I was just thinking that this is a great time of year to get involved in giveaways, as those who receive a copy of your book may consider purchasing it as a gift for friends and relatives.

Does anybody have information about charities that work with authors. I would love to get involved with a charity and have a percentage of my book proceeds go to them. 'Tis the season for giving!

If your book is available electronically, please consider getting involved in Operation eBook Drop. The project provides free eBooks to deployed service members who have Kindles and other e-readers (oftentimes deployed service members have no space for books, etc.).

Some particulars are at this link: http://blog.smashwords.com/2009/09/sm...

I am proud to say that both of my books have been made available electronically to service members as part of this program, and I have received some lovely notes of appreciation.

Susan Gottfried (westofmars) | 16 comments Cool, Gabe. Thanks! I'll look into it, myself. My local libraries (the vaunted Carnegie system, home of the free library) is facing financial difficulties. I've been trying to figure out a way to set up a library support program. I'll have to look at this more closely.

Thank you for this recommendation, Gabe. I have joined the group, and will be sending a copy of my paperback novel to one of the beneficiary organizations.
