Questions..

1)

Lazlo was a dreamer in more profound a way than they knew. That is to say, he had a dream—a guiding and abiding one....

What do you think the dream was? Was it to visit Weep? Or was it something else?

2) Do you think that the powers that the five children have match their personality, like Sarai has the power to alter dreams and so on?

3) Has a Shrestha happened in your life, or do you think that 'shresthas' are actually true?

A - I definitely think Lazlo's ultimate dream was to visit the Unseen City. He was so hungry for anything related to it. It was the ULTIMATE mystery for him.

2) Do you think that the powers that the five children have match their personality, like Sarai has the power to alter dreams and so on?
A - I definitely think so... and it really reflects with what we've seen so far... I'm just not so sure about Sarai

3) Has a Shrestha happened in your life, or do you think that 'shresthas' are actually true?
A - yes! Definitely! So many times you dream a certain type of life and then you see someone else already living it...

I have a very urgent question for all you guys though!
What do you think is in the Unseen City? and why are these set of people being taken to it?
Do you think Lazlo's theory could be true?

Also, what could be the connection between Lazlo's storyline and Sarai's? Do you think they will merge?

What do you think the dream was? Was it to visit Weep? Or was it something else? Well the prologue left me thinking that Lazlo is kinda cursed to have others achieve his dreams, but he is just about to make it to Weep so I'm mostly confused.

2) Do you think that the powers that the five children have match their personality, like Sarai has the power to alter dreams and so on? I don't quite understand Sarai's power yet enough but she seemed to think the three matched their powers.

3) Has a Shrestha happened in your life, or do you think that 'shresthas' are actually true? I didn't remember what a shrestha was so I checked Rida's answer. I'm not much of a dreamer so I don't really look at other people and think they're living my life.

I so hope that it is the nephilim, but mostly I want to be surprised.
Well Sarai was referred to as the 'muse of nightmares' which is the sequel's title so I can't see a path where they don't meet.

I read chapters ahead of 16 and we've finally entered the city, and I must say, I was surprised!

1. Have you read anything by Laini Taylor before?

4. While spewing psychic moths is a creative power what's a super power/magic that you would actually like to have? Or am I wrong and psychic moths are the best thing?

5. So the prologue had the blue girl impaled and moths tried to help her. Who do you think died? Were the moths Sarai's or her mother's?

6. Do you think Eril-Fane knows Sarai is alive and is the cause of his nightmares?

7. Is Minya stuck as a six-year-old child because of her inability to let go of vengeance?

8. Isagol is called the god of despair and Sarai is known as the muse of nightmares. Is this nurture over nature that Sarai's power is for nightmares?

- Yes, I have read Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by her last year and it made it to my yearly favorites list! But I think I am enjoying this series even more.

2. Are you reading a book/ebook or audiobook?
- ebook

3. Why are the Godspawn blue?
- I don't think there is a specific reason to that... they are gods and so they just are... just like their elders

- I wish I had the super power to have the right answer to every question in the world 😅
If someone asks me, how to achieve world peace, I'd have the answer.
If I'm asked how to be the richest person in the world, I'd know that too!

- Oh man! Shit! That has to be Sarai, don't you think? Because Isagol was killed by her throat being slit...

- I don't think he has any idea that Sarai is alive...

- Very interesting! and highly possible. I have no theories for this but your theory sounds interesting

- Possibly... but that nurture is also provided by Minya. If Sarai wants, she can help people have the best of dreams as well... but because of everything Minya has taught her and asked of her, Sarai chooses to give the people nightmares.

I have a few questions of my own and I'm reeeeaalllyyy intrigued!

Were you surprised by Minya's POV that we got for a little time? Where she was pondering over her power and the possibility that she could have saved everyone if she knew it beforehand?

Why do you think Lazlo can see Sarai in his dream?

Do you think anyone will be able to master mesarthium to reach the Citadel?

Also, did you notice when Lazlo touched the northern anchor, his skin had some grey substance on it. Do you think that the mesarthium is reacting with his skin?
Will it behave the same way to others?

Check point B

1. I've read Daughter of Smoke & Bone, and I'm not sure about finishing the series.

2. I have an ebook copy.

3. No idea, I'm guessing the author really likes blue because her other series I read the main character has blue hair and it's mentioned a lot.

4. Either turning into a dragon or to have the matrix ability to download information/skills into your brain.

5. By nature of a prologue it can't been Sarai, so it probably was her mother who fell off the castle in the sky. It would be really interesting if the prologue didn't actually take place first in the timeline.

6. I don't know. Eril-fane has his memory so he would remember a child and he would remember being tortured by Isagol's power if it's the same as Sarai's. Though it sounds like he stormed the castle with other humans kept in captivity so he wouldn't know for sure all the children had been killed.

7. Minya being kept childlike probably just sells the cute and harmless idea better storywise.

8. Well it's clear that Minya has nurtured Sarai to see her power as a curse, but it's confusing that any of them would grow up to be unvengeful when Minya's influence was on all the ghosts from day one.

I'm always a bit surprised when suddenly we get new POVs out of no where because it takes me a bit to figure out which character we're following. It was good to see the human side to Minya.

Lazlo can see Sarai because magical residue leftover from having the name of Weep erased from his brain. Haha, that's my guess.

Well it seems like Lazlo will be the one to figure out the mesarthium.

Hmm, I did not notice the substance on Lazlo's hands. Maybe dreams give all the magic power and Lazlo will be able to undream things.

@Erica - Minya's influence was on the ghosts because of her power. But she can't change their conscience.
With the rest of the kids, she has definitely influenced them but she can't force them to see things her way...

as for Lazlo being able to see Sarai, the name of Weep was erased from everyone's mind... not just Lazlo...
so I'm guessing that couldn't have been the reason.

@Rida good points. Can you tell it’s been a couple of days since I’ve been reading the book? 🤦‍♀️

Checkpoint C!

1. What do you think Minya's plan is now? Will she try to kill Sarai or something?

2. Do you think Minya's ghosts will find a way to defy her and help the people of Weep?

3. Do you think Lazlo has some supernatural power and does that have anything to do with being a dreamer?

4. Will Eril-Fane try to kill Sarai or be a loving father to her?

5. What about Thyon Nero? He resents Lazlo, but he knows that Lazlo has good intentions, do you think he'll return a favor to Lazlo?

6. Sarai said she would love to be a human, will that actually come to pass?

7. Ruby, Sparrow, and Feral were afraid of Minya and so they sided with her, but do you think they'll stand up for themselves and help Sarai?
