Dana Johnson (queenofstereo) | 76 comments Really depends on what you like… he has collections of short stories (which are some of my favorite reads); collections like Dark Tower -where you can lose yourself in a saga…. And he has literally everything scary out there. What scares you?? Find that book of his and tackle the fear.

My favorites are:

The Talisman
Blackhouse (the sequel to The Talisman)
IT
Firestarter
11/22/63

And, of course, the entire Dark Tower series.

But the truth is, it doesn't matter - every one of his books are good.

Squire (srboone) | 92 comments I recommend the 1978 version of The Stand. It's OOP, so you'll have to get it on the secondary market.

Stay away from Rose Madder, Sleeping Beauties, Black House and The Stand: Complete and Uncut (1990).

F.C. Schaefer | 174 comments I have a complete and uncut version of The Stand on my shelf that's been there for years. Someday I will wade into it.
