Rae grabbed a piece of paper out of her pocket and a pencil as well. Ree was hunting bugs somewhere. "So. We won't need many defenses because of my powers, but what should we use for the horses?"
"Hm." He gazed off to the distance, trying to think of something. "Could we do something like an ice sculpture?" He shrugged.
"We could, but that would distract me because I would have to keep reinforcing it with ice to stop it from melting," she said.
"Real horses?" he said with a chuckle. "I guess we could forge something? We wouldn't be that good at it, but. . ." He trailed off, lost in thought.
"Maybe we could have the Hecate kids turn your birds into horses?" she said, only half-joking.
"That's. . . a good idea." He peered down at the paper Rae had. "I've got five birds all together."(([edit: SIX, NOT FIVE]))
"That should be enough," she said with a smile. "How could we bribe the Hecate kids, though?"
She grinned. "Great!" She noticed a few Hecate kids talking nearby and called them over.
"What's up?" one of the kids asked. Wasn't her name Cassandra or something? Robyn smiled timidly at them. "You have the magic to turn these birds-" His birds flew from the trees, landing a safe distance from Rae. "-into horses?" Cassandra eyed him suspiciously. "What do we get out of it?" she asked. He smirked. "These," he said, holding up a handful of drachmas. "Twenty-five more and it's a deal," Cassandra snapped. Robyn glanced at Rae. "What do you think?" he inquired.
((lol :D))
She nodded. "You drive a hard bargain, but deal." She tapped her foot and asked one more question. "How long will it last?"

"Until the end of the race, or maybe like an hour longer. So a day or two, since the race is tomorrow," Rae said.
Rae shook it. "Give her the money, Rob," she said with a nod.
Robyn fumbled for a second before pushing a decent sized pile of the coins in Cassandra's direction. "Here ya go!" Cassandra fingered a coin as if to make sure they were real, then snatched up the whole pile. "I'll put these in a safe place, but I'll be right back," she said, stalking off.
(('give her the money, rob'that kinda seems sinister, and very sus. like, what they doin?
((lol it kinda does Don't worry, I thought of drugs too :D))
She narrowed her eyes. "What if she doesn't come back?" Rae whispered as Cass rose up from the table and walked away.

He smirked. "If she doesn't come back, she doesn't get the money," he replied. "Y'know since I can make it" -he wiggled his fingers- "disappear."They waited a few moments, but Cassandra was back soon. "Thought I would run off?" she asked, a playful smile teasing at her lips. "Alright, soooo, those birds?" Robyn nodded, a solemn look on his face. Cassandra walked over to her siblings and dragged one of them over. "Ollie's helping, too," she deadpanned. The two stepped towards the birds, muttering something to each other.
Rae watched in amazement as they cast the spells. "Woah..." The birds expanded into horses.
Robyn nodded. "My thoughts exactly." Once the pair finished, Cassandra and Ollie walked back over; well, more like Cass skipped, and Ollie was dragged along with her. Cassandra grinned. "Now that, was fun." The black stallion with a white mane and throat pranced over. That was one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced. Neem whinnied. Ollie groaned and put his head on his arms, mumbling "You are the literal worst, Cassie." Cassandra jumped up and whacked him over the head. "Don't call me Cassie, and I just have to be your favorite sister."
Rae tilted her head. In reality, the birds were still birds. But they looked like horses. Birds. Horses. Birds. Horses. Her mind went back and forth until she decided that now would be the perfect time to get over her fear of birds. She took a step towards the horses, then another. And another.
((oh dear, i'm an idiot. i completely forgot abt the skeleton bird. so, yeah, either i'm going to erase them from existence or give them a name. lol, what about Chaos (tbch it doesn't sound bad)? either that or Eris, Eros, Nyx, Thanatos, some primordial being/god/wtvr else))
Bibbers nickered softly, shaking out his shining mane. As Rae stepped closer, Bibber pranced back. Uh, Robyn, ya said to stay away from her, but what if she comes to us? Bibber asked cautiously. "Then let her," Robyn replied.Cassandra leaned forward, an interested gleam in her eyes. "What're they doing?" Ollie asked, poking Robyn to get his attention. "She's scared of birds, and I guess she's testing that out since they're now horses?" he said with a shrug.
((Nyx or Thanatos sounds cool :D I totally forgot about that one too!))
((let's just pretend they were there the whole time, or they could be a little shy and didn't want to do it. idk. ima probably use Thanatos then))
((omg I'm so sorry I didn't see this!))
She ignored them, pushing away the horrible memories of birds. Because these technically weren't birds. They were horses. For the moment. "H-hey... You're Bibbers, right?" She raised her hand nervously, wondering if she should pet him or not.

Bibbers dipped his head slightly, not wanting to disturb the girl. Eyeing Rae's hand he stilled, staying put for once.
((Thanks :D))
Her hand trembled as she placed it on Bibbers' soft, velvety nose. That wasn't so hard, was it? She smiled, then realized that everyone was probably staring at herincluding her crush. She coughed. "Um, anyways. Yeah, so, uh, we're just gonna... uh... Thanks for the horses!" Her voice cracked at the end of the sentence. That was embarrassing.

((nvm, ima call the bird Nyx instead, sounds cooler))Bibber nuzzled into her hand, snuffling softly. Ooh, her hands are nice. He peeped at Robyn.
Cassandra leaned against the table, hands behind her head. "It was no problem," she said, a smile bright on her face. Ollie yawned, curling up in one of the chairs. "Well, I'm gonna take a nap. . ." he mumbled. Robyn smiled, padding over to where Nyx and Neem stood. He stroked Neem's mane, glancing back over at Rae.
((Alright :D))
She smiled at Bibbers and said, "Thanks anyways." She continued to pet Bibbers, once peeking at Robyn. She turned away quickly. He was petting another bird-horse. He must really care for them.

Robyn turned and stepped next to Rae. "Soooo, how do you wanna build the chariot part?" he asked, giving Bibbers a don't do anything stupid look.
"I was trying to find a way to make my ice stay for a while, but it's not working so far. Maybe we can get build it with parts the Hephatus kids don't use?" She shrugged.
((me not knowing how to spell Hephatus))

"Hmm." He glanced around at the birds/horses. "We'll want to make it sleeker, right? For more, uh, what is it, aerodynamics?" He hopped back over to the table, and picked the paper and pencil up. Biting his lip in concentration, he sketched a slight outline. "Would this, or something similar, work?" he asked, blinking up at Rae expectantly.

((that 'including her crush' line. . . o.o))
((lol I just had too))
"Woah! Yeah, that would be perfect! I don't what aerodonuts are, but they sound delicious," she said, narrowing her eyes at the paper. "Great sketch." She wasn't being sarcastic.
