Who has read one for the money By Janet Evanovich?

Just recently read it. I liked it.. a light, fluffy, funny read!

The first ten or so books in the series are really good, definitely recommend it

I'm currently reading book 3!!

I read this. It was good. Fun chick-lit at it's best. The movie wasn't bad either. I think what I liked most were the characters, they were well written and colorful.

These are such fun, light books. If you aren't looking for anything super serious, you should love the series!

One of my favorite authors! I've read most of her books and while some literary circles give you the collective high brow should you mention such FUN reads, this author's books are worth every bit of literary scrutiny.

This book and series are hilarious.

The movie was terrible and a complete waste of time. They made terrible casting choices and it was darn clear they didn't even bother read the descriptions of the characters prior to assigning roles.

I always thought Sandra Bullock would have been better.

I like all of the books and I've read them all. Some were definitely better than others but none were bad. These are fluff books, which isn't a bad thing. I read some that are much darker and deeper but there is room in my reading list for all of them.

It was a easy fast read very funny, i enjoyed reading most of them think i got to 17

I thought Sandra Bullock was getting a bit long in the tooth for the role, but I could see Katie Holmes play Steph pretty well.

No matter who they cast in any of the roles the script had none of them like the characters in the book. Debbie Reynolds came the closest to matching her character but the others just failed.

Really? You thought that Debbie Reynolds was good as Grandma Mazur? I thought she fell flat. I'd envisioned someone like Frances Bay in the role. She played the perfect Jersey Grandma in KK1 and KK2! I thought that Patrick Fischler was good as Vinnie. But, ugh, Jason O'Mara and Heigl couldn't have been worse choices for the roles they played.

Given the script she had and how different of a role it was from what you think of for Reynolds, yes, I thought she was the best part of the film.

I am currently working my way through the Stephanie Plum series (on book 6) and love it! It's funny, witty and completely believable. I began the series routing for Joe to be Stephanie's guy but now Ranger is growing on me....

D.Wickles, enjoy it. For me, I think the series was at its best right where you are now. I started out on Team Cupcake as well, but time has shown Ranger to be the man!

I'm well into the series, on Book 11. I love Ranger- he is definitely Stephanie's man, if only she could see it! I love these books for fun, witty reads with a cracking pace. And as for the Plum family - brilliant characterisation, close to bonkers. I would give a lot to have Evanovich's talent with dialogue.

Especially with all her unsuitable men. And I love the mother, who quietly pours herself a drink when Grandma's latest escapade is told, a picture of suffering!

The most unsung sufferer in the series is Stephanie's dad. I wonder if Evanovich will ever make his character bigger in one of the books. I think that might be interesting.

True, the women are the focus of the action. Even Morelli is just there to provide, err, services for Stephanie, and make Ranger jealous.

Since I live in Jersey and am Italian I can relate to some of the fun!!

I think i read up to 17 so far a fast and funny read enjoyed them..

I thought the book was just okay. The premise was beyond ridiculous, in a the reader must heavily suspend their disbelief if they want to continue reading and still get any enjoyment out out of it sort of way; the writing was overly simple, with far too much telling, and almost no showing; and I felt the story dragged in places while also wrapping up far too quickly and neatly.

All in all: better than average for the chick-lit genre, though worse than average for the crime-thriller genre.

I love this series for a quick fun read. I usually include one in my reading pile every few months. I think that the last one I read was either 8 or 9 and I'm probably due for another one.
They are a great break after a heavy read or if you just want something simple in your bag when you are travelling.

I've read every book she's written and Stephanie Plum series is my favorite, laugh out loud hilarious, embarrass yourself on a plane type books. Even having read them all, I would continue going back long as she comes up with stories.

I'm reading Turbo Twenty-Three right now. I enjoy this light fare and as so many have said, they make me laugh. I don't read this for great literature, but then I enjoyed the old Laurel and Hardy films not because they were Citizen Kane but because they made me laugh. They don't all have to be deep, philosophical books to be enjoyed but Evanovich is witty and has clever plot twists. Evanovich produces books that entertain and she does it in a smart, funny way.

I found Seven Up in the English language section of a bookstore in Munster airport in Germany. I was hooked by the front cover. Ironically the Plum series not only acted as a catalyst to me getting married (our dog are called Tank, Ranger and Lula), but became inspiration for my own series of (less) successful crime comedy books. I always felt that Janet had the balance of character dynamics bang on, something that is so hard to achieve and found myself amazed that she could sustain the sizzle between Stephanie, Ranger and Morelli for so long.

One for the Money started my love of everything Stephanie and Janet...many years later and I believe I own just about everything Janet Evanovich has written and co-written! Her sense of humor is spot on <3
