Think I'd better wait till I finish to read your review.
@Nick: Please do! I always make mine spoiler-free but do prefer them being read when done or if readers are on the fence of reading it. Happy reading :-)
Still moving through this and I have to say this has to be Hendrix's scariest book. What a villain who is totally out of control. I never expected such horrific details from this author.

Oh man! I got the library's audiobook copy the week it was released and I truly enjoyed the listen. Hope ya'll enjoy it!
I just hit chapter 20. I'm captivated by this story. I just started it yesterday and already halfway through. It is hard to put it down. I think this is by far the best I've read yet.
I finished it a few weeks ago, I did not enjoy this one as much as I wanted to. I wanted a similar experience as the shining. I won’t say anything that will spoil it, but, I have a feeling there will be a lot of ppl let down like I was.
I thought it was good, I listened to the audiobook a few months back. I thought the characters were really well done and the story was interesting throughout.
I listened to the audiobook when it was first released and for me, it was a big letdown. I loved the author's first three books Horrorstör, My Best Friend's Exorcism and We Sold Our Souls for their satirical undertones while still being creepy as hell, Horrorstör especially.Hendrix's last three books I enjoyed less and less though, to the point where I didn't even finish How To Sell A Haunted House. I found the two main characters immensely annoying and the "haunting" more silly than creepy. I guess it's aslo a matter of false expectations, since in my opinion, this wasn't actually a haunted house story at all.
I had the same experience Hans: annoying chapters, silly haunting. Glad to hear his other books are better.

In the first three books, the main characters can be infuriating at times, but they all have a relatable side and redeeming qualities. From The Southern Book Club's Guide To Slaying Vampires onwards, I cared less and less about the characters and that's something that will ruin a book for me.
