25.5 - MEGSCL's Task: Between the Lines

Firstly, grab the last book you finished reading (any format, doesn't matter if it was for SRC or even if it's eligible). And I mean the last book as of NOW, the first time you read this task.
Take that book and note down the first sentence of text in the story, and the last sentence of text. Do count: prologue, preface, introduction, epilogue. Don't count: index, about the author, dedications, opening quotes/poems, chapter titles, acknowledgements, previews of other books.
If for some reason you can't access the last book you finished (already returned to library, can't transcribe audio, etc) use my example below, The 52-Storey Treehouse.

Book 1: Read a book with a title that has a word matching a word* from the first sentence* of text. Subtitles are excluded.
Book 2: Read a book with a title that has a word matching a word* from the last sentence* of text. Subtitles are excluded.
*Words must match exactly and be at least 3 letters long, excluding "and" and "the". If your sentence doesn't have at least 3 words that are eligible, you can add the next/previous sentence until you get at least 3 words to choose from.
Required: State the last book you read (or if you use my example) and the first and last sentences.

For example, I just finished reading The 52-Storey Treehouse
The first sentence is: Hi, my name is Andy. This is my friend Terry. (used two sentences as the first only has 2 eligible words)
The last sentence is: 'One 65-storey treehouse with a pet-grooming salon and a birthday room coming right up!' I say.
Book 1: Imaginary Friend (friend) or Before You Knew My Name (name)
Book 2: Birthday Girl (birthday) or Monday's Not Coming (coming)

I usually get my reading material as audiobooks or ebooks from the library and return them as soon as I have the info I need to complete my task. That said, I did buy a book recently, but it's a graphic novel The Sandman Vol. 8: Worlds' End, could I use it? Also, I have an audiobook that I will finish later tonight. Would either of those work?

My last book was Emma - Jane Austen likes long sentences. Your overall task says to write down first sentence then the options say to use first line (my first and last sentences are more than one line) am i using line or sentence? thanks

Hi Wayne, just to clarify, you have recently read the graphic novel right? I realised you just said bought, not read.

Also general clarification if anyone was confused. You can use a graphic novel for the source sentences, not for the books you read for the task

last book = An Abundance of Katherines
1st sentence = The morning after noted child prodigy Colin Singleton graduated from high school and got dumped for the nineteenth time by a girl named Katherine, he took a bath.
last sentence = And he was feeling not-unique in the very best possible way.

I would like to read Before Midnight for 1 of my words but it's only Kindle copies.
