Ruth I’m in Red Eft Review this morning with an apology I never actually made.

Is this a new one? It wasn't in your last book...

Ruth Thanks, Dirk. Here’s how it works. Most poetry journals do not take previously published work. On the other hand, book publishers always want a book manuscript to contain quite a few previously published poems. I have many many poems that haven’t been published yet, and I draw on those when I send submissions to literary journals such as Red Eft.

Well I hope you can get them all published!

Ruth Dirk, as of this moment I have 313 poems in my Finished folder. I write more all the time. Most literary magazines accept 1 to 3 percent of the submissions they receive. I am 87 years old. I don't think there's much chance I'll get them all published! :)

313!
So many!
That is three or four books...
Lets hope you can publish a lot in the coming years and lets hope you have at least thirteen more years to do it!
