Better Than the Movies question

I loved this book, couldn't put it down.

But I do believe you'd have to be into like romcoms to enjoy this type of book, but I will still recommend it till my last breathe. I live laugh love this book.

in my opinion, the book is for teenagers or someone who loves cheesy romcoms from the 2000s.

Personally I love this book. It’s not for everyone but if you like a good romance story, cliché films and the 80’s you are going to love this book. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it

It is a little more innocent, definitely. No big problems or hard topics, however, it is an AMAZING book with a great love story. Both characters are so pure, beautiful story.

This book has my heart!!!! I enjoyed every single second of it. The rom-com references and the TS songssss had me hooked. I cried during the prom scene when "new year's day" starts playingggg. For me this was one of the those cases where you wish there were more than five stars to giveee <3 <3

In my opinion, this is an amazing book. It's made for us rom-com lovers and even though the plot was very predictable, it was still a page turner! any one else also obsessed with the way painter writes? there is just something about it that makes me so happy! Wes and Liz are absolutely adorable, and the playlist!?! I think that to really like this book, you have to be a rom-com lover

Prob depends when you read it, as if in life when. Some found enjoyment in it because they were reading it in an enjoymental time of their live. Personally read it in the winter and i find winter the best time for rom-coms, even if im not a big fan of them. Its an easy to read, light, cute book that puts you in a good mood at the right time, juts like every other book.

I really like this book! It's a cute and easy read. I also enjoyed the Taylor Swift references.

It was a 3 star read for me, it’s a cute story and Wes is one of my all time favorite love interests but it took a while for Liz to grow on me and the Taylor Swift references…let’s just not

I don't give out five star reviews lightly, but this book was absolutely AMAZING!!! the characters actually had depth, the romance was adorable, and the characters didn't just magically become a couple within five seconds.
I wouldn't classify this book as a slow burn, but it definitely wasn't a snap your fingers and they're together type of book either.
10/10 would recommend, if you haven't read it, GO READ IT!!!

This book definitely isnt for everyone but I really liked it. I personally loved the characters but I can see how some people are saying that Liz was annoying and I do agree that she doesn’t seem like a senior in high school. But this book made me cry, laugh and angry.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I am in my 20s and still found it as adorable and enjoyable as I would watching a highschool rom com from my couch at home.

My only complaint is that I'm a bit of a realist so some of the things that Wes said to Liz in the book seemed way far fetched. But if you can ignore the fact that a 17 year old boy wouldn't actually say some of that stuff, go for it. It wasn't terrible but seemed off in some places.

Katie, I feel like you need to love rom coms to appreciate this book. I have been watching rom coms since I was little, so incorporating it into this book and knowing what they meant just made it 100x better.

Cute. Innocent. As others have previously stated, it’s a comfort read.

this book was amazing, I want a wesley so bad. I read it all in one day, probably one of my best reads this year. Really bummed that I lost the physical copy of it. I recommend.

I honestly really liked it! I don't know about 'love,' but definitely enjoyed it. But I think a big reason why I did was because of the TS references and romcom quotes, and since I'm huge fan of both, it really upped the score for me. I get why someone would not be a huge fan of it though. I personally think that it isn't groundbreaking, just a cute, enjoyable read.

That book was - in my opinion - meh. Not bad but also not my favorite.

The book wasn't what I expected. I don't really know what I thought was going to happen I was super excited for my pre order and even waking up super early to read it right away. I then kept reading and reading and it was that bad I just thought it would have been a tad bit better. In my honest opinion I would say read it all the way through or most of it and see what you think of it but for me it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

The plot was a great, cute, comfort read. But there were sooooo many cuss words that it took away from the story. I rated this book a 3.

id have to completely disagree, this book was amazing though, i think it portrays to a different age group than yours. since im younger it might be more my age.

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE BOOK OF ALL TIME. SO WORTH IT. 5 STARS. The enemies to lovers, fake-dating, the Taylor Swift songs that were mentioned, the rom-com movies that were quoted at the start of each chapter. IN LOVE

I personally adored this book, I love rom-coms and every reference really hit home. The plot is a bit predictable but you could easily say the same for any romantic comedy movie ever made. The main characters were witty and lovable, the book featured songs that really captured the scenes, this book is really a rom-com in a different format. 10/10 in my book :D

When I was 2 chapters in I told my friend I really didn't like it and it was way to cheesy. 5 chapters later I couldn't put it down. I do love the YA genre though, and one thing I found myself liking was the genuineness of the characters. They didn't seem too out there or oblivious to me, and their interactions gave me butterflies while reading it! It was a surprisingly good read to me in the end

I personally didn't get the hype I dnf it 2 chapters in and the chapter were so long for no reason

def one of the best books I have read in a while. normally I'm into dark romance but this book changed my mind about friends to lovers THIS IS MAGIC

Absolutely LOVED this book, I couldn't put it down. I do think it is written for a certain age group and for rom-com lovers. I truly would recommend this book to anyone though because it is so lighthearted, and funny, and the Taylor Swift references were everything! Definitely one of my 5 star reads.

I found this book to be great, especially the humorous scenarios and the little quotes at the beginning of every chapter.

I loved this book so much! It was an amazing cozy romance. Yes, the book is a little cheesy and cliche but I believe that's the point of the book! Its literally called "Better Than The Movies". When I picked this book up I expected it to be like all the cheesy romcoms and it was amazing.

this book is super cute. if you want a live changing book, look else where but if you want a super cheesy light hearted good romance then this is the book for you !

i also thought this book was terrible, just wasn't my cup of tea (aslo i hated Liz, the only good thing about this book is Wes)

OMG this is one book I accept no criticism about.

I really liked it, I finished it in about a day and I just couldn't put the book down. I definitely understand why some people wouldn't like it, I feel like its nothing extraordinary. I LOVE simple, kinda cheesy romance books so this was definitely one of my favorites.

I adored it. I love Lynn Painter's writing where everything seems to be easy going but real at the same time. Like she can see that the world is awful, and she's going to continue on anyway. That the only way through is to keep going with a crazy grin on your face, and that resonates with me.
But I also think that it's such a particular style of writing that if you don't like it, you can't enjoy the book, which I can understand.
