TTX Pre Challenge Chat
So nice to be waking up to this (on an anotherwise miserably rainy and very early morning). Hello! ♡
Tinker Toys X-treme! I have already tried to guess the theme and been roundly shouted down. So, for now, I am sticking to Tinker Toys.
Or, I will notice that the banner above contains red balloons, and therefore the theme is based on Pennywise.
Goooood morning!Pennywise sounds like an awesome theme Jenny. All things creepy clown... I can think of a person or two who would definitely not be playing though! ;)
Ok folks , i need a quick overview of TT and is it going to work doing lots of other team challenges 😀

I'm game!
-Top ten books of all time (read only classics)
-Fingers and Toes (read books containing certain mammals)
-10 Downing Street (read books about Prime Ministers)
-10 Commandments (read books while simultaneously not coveting your neighbor's wife)
-All About Neon (read books that contain the periodic table of elements)
-10 Little Indians (read only Agatha Christie books)
-All about Olga Korbut (read books about perfect scores)
-Base 10 (read math books, or sci-fi books about base 8 creatures)
Pretty sure I am missing the most obvious one though...

Clearly you are missing the crustaceans. Crabs have 10 legs. Shrimp have 10 legs.
Oooh, now we are getting somewhere... or not.... ;)Top Ten of..... whatever has lots of possibilities. :)
In my brain 10 seems like the perfect time for a recap of previous challenges, though I don't think it's necessarily that. I think I'm just thinking of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour since she did it after her tenth album haha.Hmmm what else could 10 be . . .

TT is very flexible so will work with any other challenges you are doing. Basically everything you read (limited exceptions apply) will count towards your team's tower and get you points. There are often mini challenges for additional points, but these aren't obligatory.

Not a mod, but I will add unless you are a Manga or comic book reader primarily. They can get very frustrated that books don't count/can't be verified. (Same I guess if you are a cookbook or poetry reader only but there seem to be less of those).
Cat wrote: "Why the focus on X=10? can't little ol' X stand for itself??"OK...
X marks the spot (It's a treasure hunt)
X-Rated (the entire challenge takes place in the NBRC Back Room)
X-Box (It's a video game challenge)
X-Factor (either based on a talent show or that certain something)
My brain stopped there...
All books must start with an X? 😂I'm totally on board with the reading only classics one. I know that makes me weird, lol

Ohh, I really like the treasure hunt idea.
What about books published in 1810, 1910, and 2010?Or even titles/author's names that contain 10 letters only.
I don't even remember the last time I joined TT or a team challenge but I'm excited to reengage and make some new friends!
Hmmmm, let's see... the traditional gift for a 10th anniversary is tin. There are also red (ruby) balloons, (emerald) green balloons and yellow (brick) balloonsSo therefore it's obviously a Wizard of Oz theme. ;)
