I am looking for a book about a boy who I think moves into this house with his family, and Ghost of a old man I think befriends the boy. It's not a scary book, it's kinda funny I guess, It's kind of like The Ghost upstairs by Lila McGinnis, but without a sister, and a older ghost. I think the ghost lived in the late 1800s or early 1900s, I don't think his parents could see the ghost, and I remember the ghost had a wife, and was trying to move on to the afterlife to be with his wife. I think the book was 8 - 12 years olds. I think the cover had the boy with the ghost on it, and they were either on stairs in a bedroom or maybe an attic, does anyone know what this book is, I have been trying to find it for sometime now.

Which year/years approx. did you read it? :) Is it a recent book, or older? There are (at least) two lists that might be helpful to you:
Middle Grade Ghost Stories:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
&
Ghosts on a cover:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
Might not fit but is an elderly ghost. The Disappearing Grandadhttps://www.librarything.com/work/540...
Mostly Ghosts series is middle grade but the ghost might not be elderly enough. https://www.librarything.com/nseries/...

Can you describe him at all (clothes, mannerisms, hair style, hat, etc.)?
And how old is this book? From the '90s or '80s, or more recent..?
You said "I think the book was 8 - 12 years olds."Did you mean: 1. the book was 8-12 years old?
Or did you mean 2. the book was aimed at 8-12 year-old readers?
If 2. then 3. you read it in the year ... ? (1990? Early 1980s? As examples.)
