Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments I chose this book because I have it for awhile and figured it was a great one for this topic. It was a little hard to get used to the way it was written. There are no ways to distinguish a dialogue; it's all written as one huge paragraph. The book was good and it takes a hard look at what our society may turn to in times of illness.

Katie (ktmac_1) He must write all of his books like that. I read The Elephant's Journey and it was written in "blocks" as well with difficulty in establishing the dialogue. I liked the book though. I have another one of his, Cain, that I want to read. Will be anxious to hear what you think of this one. :)

Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments I'm definitely looking into his other books. Although it was a little difficult to get used to I really liked the story. I think there's also a sequel...Seeing..
But will check out the one's you mentioned :)

Katie (ktmac_1) Aren't they originally written in Portuguese? Maybe the translation loses the punctuation? Just an interesting way to write. Never seen it before.

Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments Yes that's true :)
I read another book that was similar in style but can't remember the name now.

Narma | 49 comments Great author. I've loved him since I've read Death with Interruptions

I loved this when I read it years ago, devoured it all in one sitting!

Emily Tillis | 24 comments I am reading this book for the week of "a book that scares you". I tried reading the book but the odd writing style threw me so I am now listening to the audio.
