Who do you think is better; Jason or Percy? Personally I like both. Some people have a strong dislike of Jason or Percy, which I don't understand, because neither of then are not THAT bad. Feel free to express your opinion here.

Percy. Percy. Is. Better.

Gracie (graciebbooks) | 163 comments Mod
Also, feel free to express your opinion and everything, but please do so nicely. Don't call someone an idiot or anything.

Why though...do you have a valid reason?

Gracie (graciebbooks) | 163 comments Mod
Of course. First of all Percy is so much better to be around (you know, in a book character sense). He is funny, and sweet, and just has a better personality. I mean, I honestly don't mind people who follow the rules--I do. But Jason just seems like he follows them too rigidly. Plus, I think Percy is just as powerful as Jason is. Everyone always says, "Well Jason is a son of Jupiter so he is more powerful than a son of Poseidon." That's not true. Percy is still just as powerful as he is. Zeus/Jupiter is actually the last of the Big Three to be born, soooooo. Also, the Blood of Olympus has caused Jason to seem Percy. I'm not going to spoil it, because I know that FireBellyToad is yet to get around to reading it for some reason, but Rick Riordan really brings Jason and Piper to the front and sends Percy and Annabeth to the back. Percy is also much more experienced: that speech Jason gave at the Wolf House could be more than matched by Percy. While Jason got rid of Kronos' throne, Percy was playing a pivotal role in killing Kronos himself. He can create hurricanes, earthquakes, and blow up volcanoes. I mean, seriously. He has been on a ton of quests, and Jason has been on like two. Percy has even held the weight of the sky on his shoulders. He has fought Ares and managed to hurt him, he has gotten the Golden Fleece from Polyphemus, he has saved Artemis and Annabeth from Atlas and Luke, he has gone through the Labyrinth, and fought like ten million monsters. Gaea seems to consider him a great threat (as she should), and you really know he is powerful when Mother Earth is scared of him. He traveled out of the gods' realm of power to Alaska, toppled an army of ghosts off a glacier, fought sea monsters, and kept the Argo II from flipping over in a storm. And let's definitely not forget that he went through TARTARUS while Jason went above ground. Percy befriended Titans, escaped through the Doors of Death and DIDN'T DIE IN TARTARUS. Have I made my point? Good.

@CabinSix

Ok, ok, ok, I see your point. No need to write an essay though. :)

What about Blackjack or Tempest?

Personally, I like Blackjack better. Along with the fact that he is Percy's helper, he isn't made of storm and will always come when you call, instead of if he feels like it like Tempest has to. Blackjack is also hilarious--give him the donuts, man. Blackjack just has a great personality, while Tempest is barely controlled and is wild.

The Sassiest Persassy That Ever Persassed | 4 comments Ok, here's what is wrong with Jason: he's too perfect and stereotypical. I mean, come on. Percy has a definite personality; he's hilarious, impulsive, and most definitely NOT perfect, But we love him for his flaws and quirks.
Jason is like a bad color-copy of Percy. He's seriously the most default hero. Oh, here's this son of the king of the gods: he is insecure, serious, and rises to the challenge at the last minute! He always has a plan and is in charge! His character doesn't develop. He's just a big mass of blah.

I agree.

Yeah, I feel like Blackjack has more of a personality

Okay. How about Greek vs Roman?
Personally, I like Greek better, because they have Athena, and I think CHB just seems more welcoming and everything. But New Rome is pretty cool. :)

Greek.

Gracie (graciebbooks) | 163 comments Mod
Do you want to say why? That's kind of the point of a debate . . . or discussion or whatever this is.

You people don't like reasoning much. :)

Taylor Lipski (taylorlipski) Greek:
Maybe it's just because I read about them first, I don't know. But for some reason, I've always connected with Camp Half Blood more than Camp Jupiter. I feel like they're more welcoming and accepting. Also, Greeks look up to Athena, unlike Romans, and she's amazing. Not just because of this series though. She's intelligent and logical and I find that important. Finally, Chiron. I don't think that I need to elaborate much on that one. I know that I kind of made this about the camps but I feel like that is an important aspect of the Percy Jackson Greek vs. Roman debate.

To be honest, I would probs go Roman, just because they actually have a place were you can live after you become an adult. It was a close decision though.

I think Athena is the best too, and the Romans just don't respect her.

Well, if you had read the Blood of Olympus then you would know a little more than you do now about that . . .

Saniya (saniyam) | 9 comments The Greeks seem like warmer and more fun & I prefer the ways of the Greek over the ways of the Roman.

How about another topic: Do you think that new cats should be eagerly accepted into a Warriors Clan, or do you think that cats can only be clanborn?

Gracie (graciebbooks) | 163 comments Mod
I think cats might be welcomed temporarily if they will help provide for themselves. In order to actually join the Clan, they should have to prove themselves.

message 26: by FireBellyToad (new)

FireBellyToad | 82 comments Mod
Yes, I would agree with that. Also, I think there should be a limit on how many cats are taken in. For example, one cat per every four moons of the year. I don't think that so many cats are taken in, they overrun the forrest.

Gracie (graciebbooks) | 163 comments Mod
Well, unless there are cats that are very much in need, like they have been displaced by a flood or something and just need somewhere to stay temporarily.

message 28: by Taylor (new)

Taylor Lipski (taylorlipski) I agree with that ^
I think that clans should take in cats in need, but to stay there, they must prove themselves. (Unless they are a kit. Then they should have to prove themselves once they get a little older)

Yes, I agree also with that. Do you guys think that Firestar should have been in everybody's business, even if he did help them?
