Tianna | 34 comments Personally, I don't think having a lot of words should your goal when writing a story. Instead, make sure that the words you write have substance and add to the story and aren't just filler.

However, if you really want to add more, adding a prologue to your story always adds a bit of spice. There is so much you can do with a prologue: use it as foreshadowing, reference a major event in the story that will leave the reading going ohh when they recognize it, have the ending circle back to the prologue, etc.

vyn targaryen ˖˚⊹ ꣑ৎ‎ (vyntargaryen) lmao my word count on my current WIP is 122979 :)

i think make a word count goal for each week, a very solid goal to have is the average of 1000 words a day ish :)

I think my goal is like to get at least 100-500 words a week (because that’s usually what I do in a sitting and I say that to try and get myself to actual sit down and write at least once a week. It downs go so well)

Hadley | 19 comments My current WIP’s word count is at 9000 words in the first six or so chapters. The longest word count I’ve had is 29000, which was the incomplete draft of the book that has 9000 words right now. A tip I have is writing 1000 words or more per week and also expanding imagery and setting in the story.
