YA Addicted Book Club discussion

As I listened to it in one day I will comment back to your thoughts to try and avoid any spoilers! I'm currently 3/4s done with book 3 The First War

This is likely to be a bit all over the place of a spoiler.
A little over half way into chapter 16 The First War (view spoiler)[ Wu Ying is good at getting into trouble isn't he? Joining the war, sort of, after not wanting to be a part of it in order to get a cultivation manual for the noble of his village so he can save his family if needed is great and all but he really doesn't think things through. And his you're noble you cant understand or have opinions or help attitude towards his girlfriend is getting annoying. She was just telling him to think before running into things and yeah, I get how urgent it is but she isn't wrong.
Alright back to the war, the callousness of the commander is annoying and how little anyone cares about the loss of life is sadly true to reality. As long as nobody important dies, who cares right? I do find the battle scenes interesting to listen to though and well described as I can see them playing out. The fight with the tough guy on top of the wall was particularly good. I do wonder how long it can go without Wu Ying loosing one of his friends and how he will feel if it was one he caused to be there for his mission. (hide spoiler)]

I'm starting it really late. I've been very busy at work and with some personal things too. It'll be a very slow read for me, I'll just share the thoughts here :)
