Which English Mystery would you like to read with us in June? Place your nomination here!

This time please choose a more modern English Mystery, from about 1960 onwards. Thanks!

Maurice Breslow | 26 comments Once again I nominate The Bridesmaid (1989) by Ruth Rendell. I think she's a terrific writer. Her excellent plots, character-drawing, and use of language make for rich reading.

Added Miriam - I hope it's the right author!

Tiziana | 202 comments Since I need something light and humorous to read I would like to nominate :
Constable on the Hill by Nicholas Rhea ( pen name of Peter Norman Walker )

The mystery was first published in 1979 and is set in the 60s Yorkshire.
It's the N.1 of a series named Constable Nick Mystery

Just checking, Miriam! Some crime/mystery novels have the same title, but all's well 😊
