message 1: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) What book impacted your life the most?

message 2: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I don't have a certain book that impacted me the most but many books have.
All of the Lori Wick books have shown me one, that i should, before i do anything, make sure my man is a Christian who loves Jesus with his whole heart. And two, this one is a funny one, there is NO such thing as a perfect guy!

message 3: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) I've heard a lot about Lori Wick. She seems like a great author! What's your favorite book by her?

message 4: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Well, i can't just say one book but i do have four favorites.
Every Storm
Whatever Tomorrow Brings
Wings of the Morning
The Princess

message 5: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) They are all very good.

P.S. I take it that you are a Pride and Prejudice fan?

message 6: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I also would say that Soul Surfer impacted me a lot. It showed me that no matter what happens i still need to be strong and trust that God will lead me along.

message 7: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Haha, yeah. I love P&P!

And yes, Soul Surfer was very inspirational. Have you seen the movie?

message 8: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) :) I was guessing that you did because you profile pic!! lol

I haven't watched the movie yet but i really want to!!

message 9: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) you really should! It's an amazing movie, one of my favorites!!

message 10: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) It is now in the top of my list!!

message 11: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I've only watched the old P&P. The six hour one. :) I really love it and I've heard it's way better than the new one. Have either of you seen the old one?

message 12: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) I've watched the six hour BBC one and the new 2005 version. I know a lot of people who like the 6 hour one better, but I watched the 2005 first and really liked it, and got attached to the actors. When I started watching the 6 hour one for the first time it was super strange to see Mr. Darcy played by Colin Firth! I got used to it though, and like that version a lot too. But the shorter, 2005 one, will always be favorite, I think.

message 13: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) i have watched both versions!! I liked the long on the best!! I also fell in love with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy!

message 14: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) yeah, everyone loves Colin Firth! I'm starting to. :)

message 15: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I want to watch the 2005 one soon. None of my siblings do though. :(

message 16: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) you really should! I think the actor for Elizabeth did a really good job, better than the actor in the 6 hour one. And, its a lot shorter, so that's a plus. (when convincing other people to watch it)

message 17: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Kiera Nightley did an awesome job!

message 18: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) :)

message 19: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I'm going to be watching it soon, so I'll tell you how I liked it. :)

message 20: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Can't wait!!

message 21: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) awesome!

message 22: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Totally!

message 23: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) :D

message 24: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) :)

message 25: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) A series that has impacted me the most is the Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn. I've read the first 6 books in the 12 book series. So...if you like the first book....You'll have plenty more to read after that! :-)

message 26: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) Also, House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker! That taught me that no matter what evil forces are around God WILL protect me. I HIGLY recommend that book to people who kind like to scare themselves but not too much. ;-)

message 27: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I started that series and really liked it. I just couldn't get into it right then because i was so busy with other things then. I will have to restart the series!

message 28: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) I understand! I'm like that with a lot of books. Haha!

message 29: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I know!! But i will definitely re-read it!!

message 30: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) I have a friend who's been trying to get me to read Frank Peretti since forever! I really need to try him out . . . which of his books is your favorite?

message 31: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Never read him

message 32: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I like a lot of his books. My favorites and thr ones I recommend are his young adult books This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, (those two go together), Prophet, The Oath, and his two teen books Nightmare Academy, and Hangmans Curse. His adult books are graphic and slightly disturbing, but they're clean and very well written.

message 33: by Joan (new)

Joan Walker | 5 comments That would definitely be Dark Confessions of an Extraordinary, Ordinary Woman! It renewed my faith in God, made me feel better about bad decisions from my past, and was incredibly engaging. I couldn't put it down!

message 34: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Never heard of that one. I’ll have to check it out! :)

message 35: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) ;) definitely!

message 36: by Emily (new)

Emily Halee wrote: "Also, House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker! That taught me that no matter what evil forces are around God WILL protect me. I HIGLY recommend that book to people who kind like to scare themselves b..."

You're right, it was kind of scary, but I really liked it! I also recommend House.

message 37: by M.K. (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 77 comments Wow! Those sound good(: I watched the movie House but never read the book. I will have to check it out:D

message 38: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Was the movie any good?

message 39: by M.K. (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 77 comments Yes. I love the movie but it is very dark horror. However very clean. (:

message 40: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Cool!!

message 41: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Kilsby (realitywriter) | 1 comments The books that had the most impact for me and my Christian walk would be Frank Peretti's earlier books like Piercing The Darkness and those ones. They had such an impact on my prayer life!!

message 42: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Cool!

message 43: by Joan (new)

Joan Walker | 5 comments I've read Dark Confessions of an Extraordinary, Ordinary Woman a few times this year. It reminds me that God always has a plan and we should never lose hope.

message 44: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I will need to read that...
