i want to start actually writing for some of my ideas, but idk what kind of platform is good for writing book drafts & stuff :(

jaii ♡ (selwyn's version ♡ ) | 6 comments I usually just use Microsoft word in the beginning. A bit further in I switch between word and Grammarly

message 3: by Tianna (new)

Tianna | 34 comments I usually write on Google Docs. Its always been my go to, just because I'm the most familiar with the formatting.

Luca (alex_613) | 17 comments I use pages (the app, not actual pages as in paper) it was confusing at first but now I know how to use it and it works fine for me.

Nashalee | 4 comments Does anyone know if Grammarly works for properly correcting poems? I’ve written a few & I’m pretty sure they are fine, but i want to be triple sure before publishing ;’)

Storm The Tiny Hooman ~hiatus~ (asherbookreviews) | 27 comments Yes they do. I can also proof read for you

ari (yourstrulyareeba) | 4 comments Annie wrote: "I use google docs!"

Well depends? I have shit grammar and I use it sometimes but often it doesn't get the point of the poem and fixes it proper school essay style? I don't really know how to explain it but in my opinion better to have an editor read it rather than a digital website-

message 11: by Emily (new)

Emily Reed I usually just write on actual paper! But if I use a program I use Word!

jaii ♡ (selwyn's version ♡ ) | 6 comments I use Microsoft Word, copy and paste the ENTIRE text into Grammarly (book drafts too, it's worth it), then paste back into Word.

message 13: by Harper (new)

Harper | 3 comments when i was younger i always used pages but i find google docs is so much easier for me because i also use google slides, charts, etc. so that way i can store everything in files on google drive. plus, i have to use docs for all my school assignments, and i know the formatting. it’s also free!

message 14: by Tianna (new)

Tianna | 34 comments Respect to those who write their stories longhand.

Storm The Tiny Hooman ~hiatus~ (asherbookreviews) | 27 comments I tend to write it on paper then I type them

message 16: by I'm Funny (new)

I'm Funny | 2 comments Microsoft word

message 17: by erinlecountluvr (new)

erinlecountluvr (clairecottrilsgf) I switch between writing in a notebook and writing drafts for chapters on Wattpad lmao

message 18: by Sophia (new)

Sophia sometimes i write in my notebook instead of typing. it helps me slow down my thoughts and only put down the important details bc my hand hurts lol

vyn targaryen ˖˚⊹ ꣑ৎ‎ (vyntargaryen) i’m pretty basic, i just use google docs, but i’m considering moving to scrivener once i finish my present draft

message 20: by Angelina (new)

Angelina Lambros | 13 comments When I was younger, I used to write on paper but then I switched to digital methods like MS Word and Pages and then to Google Docs which I still use.

message 21: by esmeralda (new)

esmeralda | 6 comments i just write stories on google docs because it's super accessible over my phone, ipad and laptop and i can switch between fancy fonts hahaha

message 22: by isabelle ♡ (new)

isabelle ♡ I use Google Docs, its easy to add some useful add ons!!

message 23: by Percy (new)

Percy {F͓̽a͓̽i͓̽r͓̽y͓̽ B͓̽o͓̽y͓̽} | 14 comments I use Google docs! And sometimes I use Reedsy, but they send you a lot of annoying emails so I don’t use it too much.

message 24: by Tessa (new)

Tessa Rudolph | 14 comments So for my poetry I typically start out either writing on paper (if I have a notebook handy) or in my notes app (if I’m out of the house) before transferring it to my google docs for my finished poems :)

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

journal, phone notes, laptop, scraps of paper, anything really

message 26: by Ash (new)

Ash (ashluvsreading) honestly i just write on paper first, then type it out on google docs after. i find words come to me more if im writing by hand for whatever reason

message 27: by mak ⊹₊⋆ (new)

mak ⊹₊⋆ (maklacedwithlove) | 17 comments i knew someone that wrote half a book in a notebook, and it’s really hard, so i recommend just not even thinking about using paper.

message 28: by amanda! (new)

amanda! (certifiedbabe) Notion!!! Words cannot describe how much i love that app.

Genni 若林🍉 | 1 comments Dreamily and the classic Google Docs>>

message 30: by Haylie ✩ (new)

Haylie ✩ (tehehaylie) | 5 comments Reedsy has been a hugeee lifesaver for me! Its free and helps me get all my scrambled thoughts into organized places. It has a small learning curve but once you figure it out its absolutely amazing.

message 31: by Kie (new)

Kie (kie06) | 12 comments reedsy and google docs!

message 32: by kenz (new)

kenz | 2 comments Google docs or notes app on my phone!

Pierce Samuel ✞︎ (My Girlfriend's Ver.) (piercavelli) Google docs & Notebook.ai !!

message 34: by Henna_UwU (new)

Henna_UwU | 21 comments I plan on Google Docs and use it for short stories, but I do most of my long form writing on WriterDuet. It's mainly a software for script writing, but it has an option for regular novel writing that I really like. Idk why, it's just really satisfying to use.

message 35: by Kennedy (new)

Kennedy Holmes | 23 comments Google docs always. I write ideas in my notebook though. (Mostly just fanfics in my notebook)

message 36: by Emma (new)

Emma | 17 comments Google Docs :D.

message 37: by Hadley (new)

Hadley | 19 comments I try to write out the first sentences on paper to get a feel for scenes and then I use Microscoft Word. I honestly don’t like the editor in the app because it doesn’t really help me much in the sense of word choice, and grammarly is good for when I just need help with tenses but I also find it annoying with how it always suggests while I’m writing. So honestly I just edit when I’m done with the piece.
I know some people use gooogle docs which I think is also good but I don’t have easy access to it so I don’t use it.

message 38: by Queen (new)

Queen (queenmairux) | 1 comments I am an author but also I don't have my own pc but was able to published my books using my Ipad with Pages app. It was easy to use and everything I need is there. :) You can try it yourself too.
