I usually just use Microsoft word in the beginning. A bit further in I switch between word and Grammarly
I usually write on Google Docs. Its always been my go to, just because I'm the most familiar with the formatting.
I use pages (the app, not actual pages as in paper) it was confusing at first but now I know how to use it and it works fine for me.
Does anyone know if Grammarly works for properly correcting poems? I’ve written a few & I’m pretty sure they are fine, but i want to be triple sure before publishing ;’)
Annie wrote: "I use google docs!" Well depends? I have shit grammar and I use it sometimes but often it doesn't get the point of the poem and fixes it proper school essay style? I don't really know how to explain it but in my opinion better to have an editor read it rather than a digital website-
I use Microsoft Word, copy and paste the ENTIRE text into Grammarly (book drafts too, it's worth it), then paste back into Word.
when i was younger i always used pages but i find google docs is so much easier for me because i also use google slides, charts, etc. so that way i can store everything in files on google drive. plus, i have to use docs for all my school assignments, and i know the formatting. it’s also free!
sometimes i write in my notebook instead of typing. it helps me slow down my thoughts and only put down the important details bc my hand hurts lol
i’m pretty basic, i just use google docs, but i’m considering moving to scrivener once i finish my present draft
When I was younger, I used to write on paper but then I switched to digital methods like MS Word and Pages and then to Google Docs which I still use.
i just write stories on google docs because it's super accessible over my phone, ipad and laptop and i can switch between fancy fonts hahaha
I use Google docs! And sometimes I use Reedsy, but they send you a lot of annoying emails so I don’t use it too much.
So for my poetry I typically start out either writing on paper (if I have a notebook handy) or in my notes app (if I’m out of the house) before transferring it to my google docs for my finished poems :)
journal, phone notes, laptop, scraps of paper, anything really
honestly i just write on paper first, then type it out on google docs after. i find words come to me more if im writing by hand for whatever reason
i knew someone that wrote half a book in a notebook, and it’s really hard, so i recommend just not even thinking about using paper.
Reedsy has been a hugeee lifesaver for me! Its free and helps me get all my scrambled thoughts into organized places. It has a small learning curve but once you figure it out its absolutely amazing.
I plan on Google Docs and use it for short stories, but I do most of my long form writing on WriterDuet. It's mainly a software for script writing, but it has an option for regular novel writing that I really like. Idk why, it's just really satisfying to use.
I try to write out the first sentences on paper to get a feel for scenes and then I use Microscoft Word. I honestly don’t like the editor in the app because it doesn’t really help me much in the sense of word choice, and grammarly is good for when I just need help with tenses but I also find it annoying with how it always suggests while I’m writing. So honestly I just edit when I’m done with the piece.I know some people use gooogle docs which I think is also good but I don’t have easy access to it so I don’t use it.
