Anything I haven't read before. If I'm going to a new country, I like to bring a book about that country or takes place there. I usually have one history book, one novel. For example, I read Dracula in Transylvania and The Bridge Over the Drina in Bosnia.
Mostly the ones which I haven't read before but was recommended strongly. Among the ones I already read, would like to take The little prince and Hitchhicker's Guide to Galaxy any day.
I tend to save the books I've been wanting to read forever to take on holiday. That way I know I can take time to enjoy them.
I have all my books on my tablet. So..I have all my books with me always! However, if I only have an option to bring hardcover/paperbacks, I'd bring
books..
Books with 500+ pages, so that I won't finish them before I head home again!
The fault in our stars. Just to enjoy it over and over again, plus some quick reads that i havent read yet.

I love that you bring books with you that relate to your destination...I've happened to do that a few times, and it's always a great coincidence!
Multiple books, work best when traveling, of course. You never know when you might want something to read, so I bring plenty of material!I usually just bring Chad (my Kindle) with me on vacation...he's more compact; and he's got all my favorites loaded on him. But in the event I finish all those books (I've only got five on there currently, not including the dictionary) I always bring one other physical book.
I don't sleep on airplanes (even if I'm tired, I only end up napping for 20 minutes or so) so I have to bring a lot of reading material. :)
Generally, I'll start with a magazine. I'll read the main articles first, then flip back through and start at the beginning - reading the whole thing.
Once I'm bored with that, I get Chad going. I can finish up to 3 books per flight; depending on the length of the trip.
If I've exhausted Chad's offerings, then I transition to my other book.
Any book on my shelf that I haven't read yet. I do take 4 books with me if it's a holiday abroad because I just spend all day lying by the pool reading so I go through them pretty fast. However if it's a holiday close to Christmas time I always make sure I stock up on Christmas romance reads

The ones I cry over, the ones I would like to re-read, the ones which I haven't read........C'mon I take as many books as I can on a vacation(of course some scoldings from my mother too).
The book I'm currently reading plus another book that I plan on reading after it. I'm usually steps ahead on what I plan to read next. And these books are usually determined by what reading challenge I'm currently participating in.
Any book I'm reading and extra one if I finish the first. And I almost always have one audiobook on my iPod. Sometimes (if I have time to knit) I take one of my knitting books, yarn and knitting neeldes with me.
I'd take a book that I haven't read before. Not necessarily the ones I've been wanting to read for long. Selection of books is a lot of times impulsive for me and acting on that impulse I end up buying new books even before I've read my pending stock. Keeping that in mind, I'd most likely end up buying a book or two on my vacation that I've either been meaning to read (not necessarily immediately!) or anything that interests/ intrigues me. I don't mind if a book is easy and short or long and hard, so long as it doesn't exhaust me I'm good. A book is always a pleasure, no matter what :)Amongst the ones I've read, Wuthering Heights. Or Lolita (depending on where I'm going). Both difficult, dark stories but both of these are beautiful in their own ways which makes them my favorite. I'd also carry a S.S. Van Dine with me. He's a master!
Mostly books I haven't read before. And any books by Michelle Moran, Christopher Moore and any of the royal diary books.
I try not bring paperbacks/hard covers.. not to increase luggage. I'll bring my e-reader though I prefer reading paperbacks.
Light fun reads that I can read while laying at the beach or by the pool.

I most likely to bring something that I haven't read before because I am not the type of person to re-read books.
I love to bring the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich because they're so much fun! I just read Top Secret Twenty-One on the plane trip from Hawaii to L.A. I'll be bringing #22 with me when we visit the Big Island later this month...
