Hi everyone!! I'm so exited to be a part of Team Alexandrite! (And as a geologist, I'm especially in love with the theme of our team names!) I look forward to getting to know y'all and rocking this challenge! :-)

Hello guys :) I'll be your friendly mod helper for this challenge. Please feel free to ask about any questions you might have.

Welcome Dani and Danielle! Glad to have you guy aboard, I know we're going to rock this challenge. Just waiting for Abbi and Nadia.

While we wait for it to start, let's introduce ourselves. I'm Corey, I'm an attorney in Florida and can get pretty busy, and love to read whenever I get the chance. I don't always get time to do so and therefore find a lot of motivation to sit down and read with these challenges. I'm an FSU alum and love FSU football, and am also patiently waiting for March Madness to start.

I'm Danielle. I'm from the Wales (UK). I love these team challenges and enjoyed wheel-a-thon the last round, so looking forward to paying again.

My main reading is romance, love a HEA. I do also love reading Fantasy and UF. This year I have a few Historical Fiction books and quite liked.

Sounds like you are busy Corey, glad these challenges help you find time to read.

I'm presuming FSU Football is an American Football team. I don't know much about that sport.

I'm a fan of Rugby Union and at the moment Wales is playing in the Six Nations Championship. I was happy yesterday as they beat Ireland.

Haha yes Danielle, it is College level American Football. I've never had an opportunity to watch much rugby, I'll have to see if I can watch some of the games from here. I do some times get into Futbol and when I do I tend to root for Manchester United, or America if I'm watching the World Cup series ;)

I love most fiction, I really enjoy historical fiction and sadly have a soft spot for YA (I'm 28 and grew up with a lot of YA and haven't completely grown out of it yet though some of the newer stuff does seem to be more for a younger audience, or maybe I'm actually growing out of it haha). I love sci-go and fantasy (really the type of YA I'm into) and am trying to get more into non-fiction. I used to be a history major so I tend to want to read into a fictional world after reading all that history.

I currently reside in Texas, and I too, am looking forward to March Madness,as it gives me more reading time while my husband is glued to the tv.
I mostly read Science Fiction, Horror, and Historical Fiction.
I currently have this profile picture, for losing a bet...So by April first, you all will be able to actually see my face.

Oh, and BTW, I had no idea which gemstone this was...had to Bing it.

Hey guys! I'm a geologist from Louisiana and huge LSU fan. I also attended FSU for a couple years of grad school, Corey! And I'm also a ManU fan of the other football variety. :) I'm excited for March Madness as well! I think this is the firs time we've made the tourney since I've been in college.

Fun fact about me: with my old job, I used to work in south Texas and northern Alberta, so I've worked in both extremes: 110F (43C) degrees and -40F (-48C) temps. Fun times....

I read just about anything, though I'm not a huge horror fan. I like romances, historical fiction, and dystopian. I finally watched Divergent last night, so I'll likely pick up that series again, especially as I read it before the 3rd book came out, so I don't know how it ends. :D

I was just playing around with some books on my TBR list and figured I'd throw out options if we wanted to start planning on how to complete our first color, NEON CARROT. :)

Here are a few books I could potentially read that first week and what letters may apply to them:

I think I was able to incorporate every letter except C in those four books. Ha! But yeah, I may be able to read 2 or 3 of those depending on what letters we may need filled. Though I think Angel's Blood will be one for sure if that cover will count as Orange enough! And maybe Pandemonium too!

I'm not sure that the mods have confirmed that the first color is the one on our spreadsheet, but each team seems to have a different color on theirs so I think it might.

Dani, Glad to see another Nole, and I root for LSU every now and again, I even tend to wear Purple and Gold together every now and again (More for my Law Fraternity Phi Alpha Delta) but I let it rep LSU during football season too.

yeah, I wasn't sure about the word, but I saw other groups starting to plan based on what was on their spreadsheet. And feel free to add me! I'd love to have you all as friends if you'd like! The more the merrier (and the more book ideas I get. :) ) I can usually read 2 books a week, but I've been flying thru Nalini Singh, so if her books apply to the word of the week, then I can probably up my count.

Haha We'll take all the cheers we can get. I have a feeling that if we manage to squeak past NC State (a team I grew up cheering for), then Villanova is gonna crush us.

That's good. Though it will negatively effect me, so maybe you can offset my lapse haha.

I have to admit, I am spontaneous reader...I can't plan Too far ahead, as books fight for my attention, but I will read spontaneously the letters we need!
I usually do two to three books a week.

I do plan a little if I have BR's, but I am more of a mood reader. I find that if I plan by the time it comes to reading my choices are completely different.

So quiet today, what's everyone up to? I unfortunately have a networking dinner I forgot about, which has now ruined all my fun reading plans.

Oh no! I just got home from work. Haven't been feeling well so I'll probably take it easy this evening with a nap and some reading. Unfortunately my reading will be yoga books instead of things for this challenge. I'm training to be a yoga instructor, and I have to give two book reports this weekend. (Yeah I'm a procrastinator. :P )

Haha yeah. This first week should be pretty good because we have some extra time. We won't have this buffer for the following weeks. :) I'm trying to get thru these yoga books so I can get back to the fun stuff
