Play Book Tag discussion

I'm kinda torn on this book and how to rate it.
There were parts I enjoyed more than others.
This book is a story within a story, the past history of Dutchman's Creek and its secret book-ended by the present, and I found the story within the story (or at least big parts of it) the most compelling. The present day narrative I was less engaged in.
Also, despite its 243 page count I felt like this took forever to finish.

This book is best read knowing as little as possible going in, but it won't be a spoiler to say it is decidedly Lovecraftian. So, if you are a fan of Lovecraft and his style of monster stories then give this a read!
