This readathon starts on Canada Day (Saturday, July 1) and ends on Independence Day (Tuesday, July 4).

What are your goals for the readathon?

message 2: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2182 comments Hooray! I'm planning to start my personal readathon tomorrow because I'll be working on the first. I want to get as much of my reread of Dune done as possible, and possibly start on my reread of Insurgent because I want to read that one over next week.

Carol (carol07) | 4387 comments Yahoo! A readathon! Unfortunately I will be vacationing with extended family which is really going to cut into my reading time... Am going really conservative and set a goal of finishing 2 TBD books.

Happy 4th everyone! I’ve been in a big reading slump. I’m looking forward to getting at least one book read and getting some reviews posted.

message 7: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2182 comments So I read a lot of Insurgent today. I’ve decided my goal for the next four days is to read as much of Dune as possible.

message 8: by Karin (new)

Karin | 134 comments My goals are:

I’d like to finish reading Death is Not Enough by Karen Rose. And I’d like to start and complete Say You're Sorry by Karen Rose.

Good luck to everyone!

Happy Readathon! I've been swamped with work stuff and have been terrible about updating my reading progress. We moved to California in March and alas everything is new and everything is busy 🤣

My Kindle is full of books from the library but I'll probably ready one or more of these this weekend:
Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult
She Is a Haunting by Trang Thanh Tran
The Kiss Curse (The Ex Hex, #2) by Erin Sterling

Mad Honey is my book club read for July and the other two fulfill a Popsugar category.

Oh wow California! From...North or South Carolina right? Or was it Georgia? lol. Quite the move! I really enjoyed Mad Honey! I own both but haven't read the other two yet.

I'm starting July with a NetGalley buddy read Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen . I've enjoyed her and Greer Hendricks' novels but this is my first solo Pekkanen.

Now that today is done, I have no plans from here till Tuesday! I'm 41% through Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen and I might start reading some graphic novels. I need to boost my Shrink the Shelf challenge on Instagram. lol. It's going to be a nice rainy day tomorrow (and 70°F) so very cozy for reading!!

message 14: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2182 comments So I ended up not getting as much of Dune done today. 😩 Might try focusing on other books for now instead.

Cobwebs-Iced-Across-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 327 comments I'm thinking the Dune Series is fascinating...but slow slogging.🤔
I am reading an absolutely absorbing SciFi, and it's only 513 pp.! [Fast-moving though!] These Burning Stars

Agreed that Dune is very slow but also interesting! I might someday continue it on audio as I've only read Dune.

message 17: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2182 comments Dune is a chonky beast. It’s odd reading it this time around because I read book 2 last year and I know some things now.

I finished Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen last night and also read Snotgirl, Vol. 1 Green Hair Don't Care (Snotgirl, #1) by Bryan Lee O'Malley . I'm almost done reading #NoEscape (#murdertrending, #3) by Gretchen McNeil and then I'll read Snotgirl, Vol. 2 California Screaming (Snotgirl, #2) by Bryan Lee O'Malley .

I barely got 2 books read:

1. Iced in Paradise (Leilani Santiago Hawai'i Mystery, #1) by Hirahara, Naomi

2. Summary of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

I did get to complete a big chunk of Gone With the Wind.
