Political fiction book club discussion

We are now beginning our read of Rodham by Curtis Sittenfield. This novel is an imagined life of Hillary Rodham, if she hadn't married Bill Clinton. How might her life had gone? What does this tell us about women in politics?

I loved the first part of the book, which was a very compelling take on the early Bill and Hillary relationship. Really drawn in by the Hillary 'character'. After the time jump, I started to lose interest. It didn't do what I thought it was going to do - explore what Hillary could have done without Bill. This was all just skipped over to set up a very unrealistic final scenario.
