Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Hi team! I'm from Ohio (EST). I normally read 3-4 books a week. This will be my third time doing this challenge but don't think I want to be captain. I am willing to help though....:)

message 6: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Elle will be joining y'all :)

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Everybody! I'm from Virginia (EST) and this is my first team challenge so I'm really excited & a little nervous.

message 8: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 256 comments Hello. I am Jenn and I think this is where I'm supposed to be :). Jennie can you please confirm for me?

I live in Arizona so I will probably be on a little later in the day than those of you in Est.

I read 2 or 3 books a week. Sometime more depending on what's going on. I would prefer not to be captain as I'm currently working a lot of hours and just started to classes.

I'm excited and looking forward to reading with all of you over the course of this challeng.

message 9: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 256 comments Never mind Jenne. I see the rest of my username now.

message 10: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 256 comments Hi Jodi, what part of Ohio are you from? I was born in Ravenna, Ohio and my uncle still lives there and has a bed and breakfast there. I grew up in Kent, Ohio and have other family in Hudson, Akron and Columbus areas.

message 11: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Welcome Elle! No need to be nervous, this is a fun challenge. :)

I live in Columbus. I know I have heard of Ravenna but not sure where it is on the map, I will have to Google!

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Does anyone have any clever, cool team names? Like "Triple Threat" or "Happy Bookers"

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Jenn!

Thanks, Jodi! I'm really looking forward to the challenge & it seems pretty easy but I have never done a review before so that's where the bit of nervousness comes in.

Let me better introduce myself. I can read anywhere from 3-5 books a week, depending on my schedule (which is usually flexible). I read a little bit of most anything fiction.

Also, since I'm not sure of what all is required outside of reading & posting by the deadline, please let me know if there is anything else I need to do or could help with.

Jodi wrote: "Does anyone have any clever, cool team names? Like "Triple Threat" or "Happy Bookers""

I like Triple Threat, that's good!

message 16: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments @Elle, that was my biggest issue too. I hate to write reviews (I usually don't read them either) but once I did a few reviews, things were all good.

message 17: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 140 comments Hi everyone

I'm Rosina. Live in Canada MST. Never played before and I don't want to be captain. I read about 3 books a week depending on length and interest level.

I like the name Happy Bookers.

I read a bit of everything but my go to is epic historical reads or PNR/UF.

Looking forward to making new friends and finding new authors/books.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Rosina! I use to read quite a bit of UF but I genre jump so it's been awhile.

Looks like we haven't heard from Sha & Colleen. I'm going to PM them since it looks like we need a captain.

In regards to the team name, it doesn't matter to me...I like both suggestions.

message 19: by Elle (new)

Elle Hey everyone! Sorry for being late to the game. :) I live in Texas (CST). LOVE this challenge but won't be a good captain. I like Triple Threat. I read about 2 books per week. Looking forward to getting started. :)

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome Sha!

I'm hoping Colleen wants to be captain when she checks-in.

Oh & being a nosy newbie, I was looking around in the archives. In Round 2 there was a team called, "Four Happy Bookers". Just thought I would share that.

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Hi Team,

If Colleen does not want to be captain, I don't mind doing it (I will need to learn how make the links though) but I have 1 issue. On Fridays, there are some weeks that I am not near a computer until 4 PM and we technically can roll at 12 AM(CST, I think?), if this is not a problem for you all, I can be captain. Just let me know...

message 24: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 140 comments Hi Jodi...looking forward to getting to know you.

message 25: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Jodi it's ok to have another teamie help roll if you want. I can help you with how to make a link.

There's a html thread here on our group that shows a picture of the html code for links. Lemme know if you need help with it :)

Jodi, I'm usually up til after 1am EST so I can roll if that's a problem. My schedule is pretty flexible so I can help out whenever. The links are very easy, I just learned that part myself today.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi all, since we haven't heard from Colleen yet should we just go with "Triple Threat" as our team name?

message 28: by Elle (new)

Elle I'm good with that!

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Hi all, I will gladly be captain! @Elle, it would be great if you could help by doing the rolls on Fridays. I will let Jenne know that our team name is "Triple Threat." I am excited to get reading. Let the game begin!!!

message 31: by Elle (new)

Elle Whoohoo! You rock Jodi :)

message 32: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (colls) | 491 comments Hello everyone! Sorry to be late - I've had a few long work days this week and had mentally had "check in on Friday" for this challenge.

I'm a first time player (but have done several challenges and read 2-3 books a week - so I should be good). Some of my friends play this and it sounded like so much fun. I'm excited!

message 37: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments Me too Elle! I already figured out my books, so depending on the roll, I am ready to read. :)

message 38: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 20, 2015 10:01PM) (new)

Sorry guys, storm knocked out my internet signal for a couple hours but we got a great roll...we are on Spot 12. So we have 5 options:

(1) Standalone (for 1)
(2) 1st in a Series (for 1)
(3) 2nd in a Series (for 2)
(4) 12th in a Series (for 12)
(5) Something off the Read 2014 list (for 12)

Jodi: Please correct me if my options are wrong.

Team: I will post my book selection later today & give an update on my progress come Monday. I will also submit my rating & review by Thursday afternoon so Jodi can post everything & we can roll again at midnight.

Happy reading ladies & have a wonderful weekend!

This is a pretty good series! The books aren't a typical serial as much as they each (so far) focus on a different protagnoist. I've read the first three and they all feel like stand alone novels to me. If we land on 4 I'll be reading this series. :)

Could we read the 12th book in a series? I think I have a couple that are that far.

message 50: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (jojolyn) | 673 comments @Jenn, I have asked the question in the discussion thread. Hopefully Jenne gets back to us soon so that you can start your book.
