Hi Team!I am looking forward to playing again. I was on Roger's team last round and we won! Hopefully, we will have good vibes again...
I live in Kennesaw, GA/US and am on the ET zone. I would prefer not to be captain but can help if needed. Unfortunately, we have to get up very early so it is difficult for me to roll.
HI team I am in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA so Central time zone. I am good at doing behind the scenes stuff and if you need some to motivate you to read I can do that. but my home computer sucks so while I would love to be captain I cannot do that. Though if some one is unsure of what needs to be done captainwise I can help there I know the tasks but have limited computer time for doing them.Well I have played three round of this and been on the winning team twice.
Hi, I am in NY so EST for me. I can be captain I don't mind. I have only been in one other of the SS games so any help is welcome LOL. I am usually available in the mornings on Friday but then not until after 7 on Fridays. I don't know what time is good for rolling. Just after midnight on Thursday night I can do because I am usually up. I am definitely a night person.
Hi Joyce,I am definitely not a night owl - never have been. We also have to get up extremely early for work. I am more than happy for you to be captain, and I like all of the names that you have suggested - especially booked for life!

I think I am partial to that Booked for Life or Paginators. What does everyone think. I am assuming I am captain. I'll just send a message out to Suzanne and then I can set up my spreadsheet.

I'm from Indianapolis and since we're doing daylights savings time I have no idea what time zone we're on now.

Review: This series has been on my TBR list forever.I loved her fist series VA and I am finding myself getting drawn deeper and deeper into this spinoff.
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.
Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist.
But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age–old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. Equally daunting is her new romance with Brayden, a cute, brainy guy who seems to be her match in every way. Yet, as perfect as he seems, Sydney finds herself being drawn to someone else—someone forbidden to her.
When a shocking secret threatens to tear the vampire world apart, Sydney’s loyalties are suddenly tested more than ever before. She wonders how she's supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she's been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.
Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

My goodness I have read a book that were many kinds of blended genres but I think this is the first science fiction/contemporary mix I have ever read. combine sentient body armor bonding with one MC and the scion of a Russian mob family for the other and you got one unforgettable wild romp that takes you places you never thought.
Week 1, spot 12 Etiquette & Espionage 5 stars

Review: This is sort of a prequel series to the Parasol Protectorate series. Sophronnia is a handful to her mother. She is always getting into things and wanting to know how things work and investigating stuff. Her mother sends her off to a Finishing School to learn to be a proper young lady. But...all is not what it seems at the school. They learn more than just finishing... a bit of espionage is involved as well.
Love this series and will definitely continue with it.
Great job, everyone!I will have my book completed by tomorrow afternoon. I have two other challenges that I am finishing up.
Week 1, Spot 12
Book 2 in series
3.5 stars rounded to 4
Zander, the Argonaut descended from Achilles is over 800 years old. As rough and tough that Zander is, his one weakness is Callia who is the healer to the King of Argolea. 10 years ago, Callia and Zander walked away from each other. In book 2, fate has brought them back together but it may be too late. Through the entire plot, communication between the two were limited by mistrust. Even after the lies were extinguished, I just didn’t see the connection between the two.
I really liked the secondary characters more than Zander and Callia. I am still not sure about this series as the world of the eternal guardians is still building. I also find it difficult to read a series where women are thought of as breeding machines and basically nothing else.

Review: This is the first book I've read by this author and it was pretty good! It was an intriguing military romance with Amnesia and mystery. Very enjoyable, plus it was available on audio which helped a ton! Some parts were a little over the top but I didn't care. I still liked it.

Review: I started this series for another challenge this week and couldn't wait to read the next book ....And I love it also...
Once upon a time…the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom of Elden. To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety and the king filled them with vengeance. Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirs. Now they must return and save Elden…and time is running out…
Princess Breena had been dreaming of her warrior lover when she was ripped from her Elden castle and thrown into a strange, dangerous realm. Lost and alone, she prayed for survival and vengeance for her stolen kingdom. She found both in a woodland cottage…in a dark bear of a man.
The goldenhaired beauty had eaten his food and slept in his bed when Osborn found her. Though he wanted to awaken his virgin princess to carnal pleasures, Breena wanted more—including his warrior skills. Skills the oncelegendary mercenary had long buried. Now Osborn had a choice—risk his life or deny his princess her fairytale ending.

Review: So this isn't the type of book you read in one sitting. You need to read it to inspire you to read other books, but a lot of the books that she suggests are really old or out of print. I had read some of them though, so I may be hitting the used book store to see if I can find some of the other ones :)

This is book 2 of the Others. If you have not read, Written in Red, I highly recommend that you do so before you begin this one. Murder of Crows picks up where Written in Red left off. Meg, who is a cassandra sangue, (blood prophet)is human and is protected by Simon since she saved his nephew in the last book. Meg’s first vision in Murder of Crows saves the Crows from a mass massacre. Her visions begin to come faster as Meg attempts to piece the puzzle together to help the Others. Simon’s and Meg’s relationship began to blossom as well as new characters being introduced.
I found the writing to be smooth and the story flowed well.
I enjoyed learning more about this world, but there is still something that I feel that I am missing. This was a quick read and I devoured this book! Looking forward to the next one in the series!

Review: This is the 2nd in the series that the TV show "Bones" is based off. The main character Temperance Brennan is not as stand offish and dense as her TV counterpart. It is mainly takes place in Quebec and Montreal. There has been some particularly awful murders both in Quebec and in North Carolina. They seem to be linked to some sort of a cult. Tempe's sister Harry visits and is on a new age kick. She seems to have disappeared and might be linked to the cult. Tempe and Detective Ryan have to race the clock to try to save everyone.
This was a great addition to the series so far and I'm looking forward to reading more of the series.
Due to time constraints (I am going away this evening to visit my family for Easter and will have limited at best to no internet until I return on monday the 6th), I am going to change my book to a standalone I read for the other type of this challenge A Prince For A Kingdom 286 pages:Week 2: A Prince For A Kingdom
