The Tribute on Fire discussion

"Thank you for your consideration…"

These will account for the largest portion of your tribute’s training score. Make sure you complete these, if anything. Your session should last approximately 15 minutes, and showcase as many of your tribute’s skills as you wish, though your training scores will affect your sponsor points, so I recommend trying to incorporate all their skills. It is important to keep your sessions realistic though, because you will be docked points if they aren't. (For example, if your tribute is from a lower district, they SHOULD NOT be as talented with weapons and such as a tribute from a career district.)

Theodore Roseland
District 11

(view spoiler)[ Theodore Roseland walked in hunched over. Once the door shut, he stood straight, his parents teaching shining through. Followers get nothing in life, leaders do. Breathing shallowly, he intoned, "Theodore Roseland from District 11."

He walked straight backed towards one of the tables. Knives were lined neatly on one of them, but he knew that if he messed up like in practice, he'll be one of the ones with the lowest scores. Bitting his cheek, he picked up one, his possible impending failure looming over his head. He worked hard with his throwing; he never tried with an actual knife until he was chosen for the Hunger Games, but he practiced with pitchforks and other pointy objects until his aim was above average. So far, throwing knifes were basically the same as throwing his practice objects back home.

Fifteen minutes, he thought, picking up one of the sliver edged knifes. He'd have to find something else once his throwing become old news.

Bows and arrows were out. He couldn't pull the string back far enough. But he could throw a spear or two, or maybe a sword. Theo grinned, spotting said sword hanging among many.

'This was going to entertaining,' he thought, aiming with the knife. It flew through the air, spinning until it landed with a dull thump inside the bullseye.

"Yes." This word was drawn out and low, but he suspected someone might have heard it. He threw one more. It, like the first, landed where he wanted. Everything was turning around. Five more knifes landed, and he became cocky with his success.

The last knife landed on the outer ring. With his teeth clenched at the failure, he withdrew a spear. This went a lot better. The spears were more easier to handle for Theo, and all of them landed truly. Deciding to take a chance with the last weapon, he threw the sword, expecting the same results as the spears. The sword ending up imbedding itself in the wall.

Blushing in embarrassment, Theo walked out with his head down, his fifteen minutes done. He just might have the lowest score. And that quite honestly scared him more than anything. (hide spoiler)]

Haha I have just writtwn both Kayleigh's and Sam's chariot/interviews and I just wanted to trick everyone :p hahaI will have to finish them tonight!

(view spoiler)[Ren walks in with a grim face she didnt want to really show off she can live without sponsers she sighs then calls out "Ren Tolinti! from district 8!" walking over to the knifes she picks up a smaller silver one of maby 5 in. swiftly twirling around she lets it loose at the target hitting dead on bulls eye ren smiles slightly letting out the breath she had been holding onto out. she throws a few more another hits bulls eye but the last one gets right beside it she shakes her head slightly then disideing to try out something she had kept hiden from the others she goes to the arrows she weighsthem till she finds a lighter one it has bin a while since she used one shooting down the bats that would nest in the cloth mills she grabs a few arrows and loads one into the bow pulling it far back she lets it go at the sword dummies on the other side nailing it in the throught loading another she shoots again missing by inches she puts the bow back and walks out her time up(view spoiler)[

(view spoiler)[ Aria marched through the doors, a tingling sensation filling her belly.
"Aria Wild. District 10," she informed the comity seated above, and they leered creepily back.
"Welcome, Miss Wild. Now show us what you can do," the head game maker said slyly.
She strode over to the weapons rack, and selected a throwing axe. She picked it up, leveling it in her small hands to find balance in it, just like her grandfather had taught her.
Turning to face the dummy, Ari threw the axe at the dummy. A mental picture flitted through her mind of a boy falling, an axe stuck in his chest.
Thunk. The axe sunk into the flesh like covering of the dummy, streaking just above where the heart would be.
She caught her breath. This was far better than she had expected. She retrieved the axe, aware of the game makers' eyes upon her.
She chucked the axe again, but this time it fell short and clattered to the floor.
Cursing quietly Aria stuck the axe back into place on the rack. She then chose a few throwing knives, about 6 inches long, and hurried back into place.
Her back to the dummy, Ari heard the fake dummy advancing, it's metal feet crushing the pretend foliage beneath her feet.
Ari quickly flipped around, doing a perfect backflip, and sent the knife flying towards the dummy. It's silver point pierced the flesh of the heart and Aria smiled, again forcing the image of a boy falling instead of the lifeless dummy away.
The head game maker leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on her.
Aria shivered. She quickly gathered the things needed to make fire and kneeled on the pretend grass, rubbing the wood together until sparks flew. By blowing on the embers, Aria produced a burning fire of the perfect size.
She next grabbed the sack of pebbles, and began building a wall of rocks around the fire, not stopping until it was a little less than a foot high. Aria wiped sweat from her temple.
She stood, walking over to the supplies table, retrieving flour and water. Then she emptied the containers into a bowel shaped rock. Placing it over the heat, Aria stood.
The mixture would soon turn to something nourishing, and would be able to supply her with food for several meals in the arena. Hopefully.
Glancing up, Aria noticed a long rope hanging from the ceiling meant for climbing.
Aria had climbed ropes before, in the barn up to the hay loft, and her hands were callused where the rope had touched her so often.
She hurried to the rope, aware that her time was nearly up. She began climbing.
She pulled herself up, one hand after another.
One. Two. One two.
When she nearly reached the top, Ari glanced to the comity and they nodded at her.
Her time was up. She slid down the rope, and bowed to the game makers. They simply nodded back, eyes flashing.
She was escorted out by two peacekeepers, the doors closing behind her before she could look back. (hide spoiler)]

Kayleigh Southport, District Two

After shaking her whole body out and getting any last tips from her Mentor, Kayleigh had made her way down to the Training Center, which was now completely empty. Since she was the fourth one to go in, there were still twenty tributes waiting outside. Even though she had prepared for this moment in her mind over and over again, she never thought it would be this terrifying. She didn't let her thoughts show on her face, however; the other weaklings would know that deep down, she was truly frightened. Kayleigh had tied her hair in a high pony but she kept pulling it out and soon enough, she'd start pulling her hair out, not the bobble. Okay, she knew she was being ridiculous. Soon enough, the District One female exited the room and Kayleigh tried to see what she had done but her face wasn't showing anything. Ernest was called in and Kayleigh stayed put, sat on those awful blocks. A song just kept replaying in her head and no matter what she did to make it go away, she couldn't get it out. She was about to break something when-

"Kayleigh Southport, District Two." It sounded like a question, the way it was said, as if the lady behind the voice wasn't sure if she was there, or if it was actually her. Nevertheless, Kayleigh stood up, ignored the looks from other tributes - if they were any - and walked into the room, her footsteps echoing off the walls. Her time had come to show what she could do and the girl from Two was sure that no matter what she did, the Gamemakers would remember her. She smiled as she noticed the light she put out - they hadn't fix it yet. Or more reasonably, they couldn't fix it. They'd probably have to replace the whole thing. She walked into the center of the room and waited for the Gamemakers to acknowledge her. When they didn't, she said her name anyway and walked over to some of the targets, then very swiftly pulled them over to the corner by the door, making sure that there were five, all aligned. They were heavy to move and she managed; that showed that she was strong. Once she had moved them all, she ran to a corner of the room, collecting a few daggers and knives on the way. Once she reached the corner, she made sure that she was well hidden, and after thinking about what she was about to do, she leaned back on her right foot and threw one of the knives at the target on the far left, watching as the weapon flew through the air. Her body was hidden, so the Gamemakers would just have seen a knife come from no-where. The knife hit the bull's-eye, as per usual. As soon as the first knife had landed in the middle of the target, she threw the next one at the same target and that landed in the middle of the target, piercing the tip of the blade of the other knife. Kayleigh very quickly swapped to daggers and at the second target, she threw the weapon and looked on as it split the middle of the target, then she threw the next dagger and that hit the middle as well; it did the same as the second knife; took a part off the tip of the blade.

The girl from Two knew that she had to show some other skill apart from weaponry, so she wandered over to the plants and started separating the edible plants from the ones that weren't edible. Within a minute she had done them all, and a quick look over her shoulder confirmed that the Gamemakers were still watching her. She had one minute left and decided that she'd show herself off. Grabbing some paints from the camouflage table, Kayleigh quickly painted all of the tribute's names on the floor in red, writing their District number next to their name. She then grabbed a knife and threw it at the name that was Sage; that tribute was dead. She then grabbed another knife and threw it at the name that was Dylan; dead. She did that for all of the names apart from her own, the knives stabbing the floor. It was surprising, really that she was able to collect a knife almost as soon as she had thrown one. She'd written the names big enough so that the Gamemakers would be able to read it, and once she was done, she threw another knife over her head, at the target, and hear the satisfying sound of the weapon hitting the target. She didn't need to look to know it had hit the middle. Walking back to the middle confidently, Kayleigh curtsied, said nothing, and walked to the door, her hips swaying, her eyes locating her last knife that hit the bull's-eye. The doors opened automatically and she left the room, a sly smile appearing on her face.

Sam Butterfield, District Twelve

He was the second to last one in the room, Theta being the last. His hands were shaking and he felt close to tears but wasn’t exactly sure why. He knew he had to use his archery knowledge, and fit some plants in there too, and leave out any other weapons. Unless.. Sam decided right then he would do all the things he was terrible at. The other tributes had seen him use a bow and arrow and once he got his Training Score, they might think that what he was doing was a fluke. He knew that Tempest had seen him with the knives; he got no-where near the middle of the target. Sam kept his face straight and waited for his name to be called.

Sam had introduced himself and knew that he only got a certain amount of time before the Gamemakers got bored, which was exactly what he needed. He walked over to where the axes sat on their stand and picked one up, groaning slightly under it’s weight. Sam had no idea they were so heavy. Walking over to one of the dummies, Sam lifted the axe up with both hands and threw it over his head, watching as it fell short of the dummy by about 10 feet. He frowned, knowing that if he looked happy about it, the Gamemakers would suspect something. He then went over to the swords and picked on up, then threw it at the target which was about 12 metres away and the sword landed 3 metres away from Sam. He sighed and realized his time was up.
“Thanks,” he told them, then walked out, the sound of their laughing filling his ears.

He’d either made a clever decision, or a stupid mistake.

Eliana Lake Winters
District Four

(view spoiler)[Eliana wrung her wrists on the elevator ride down to the training center floor. She paced back and forth, shaking her hands out with her gaze on the ceiling and taking deep breaths as she waited in the small room, sectioned off from the rest of the training center by an iron gate with an overly fancy pattern. She closed her eyes, listening for her name and beginning to set herself into the mindset she would need. It sounded stupid, but it really helped her focus and helped her excel.

“Eliana, Winters.”

The voice was mechanical and took a pause between her first and last name. However, Eliana jolted bolt upright and turned to where the fancy iron gate was lifting with an annoyingly loud grinding sound. Eliana turned to look behind her, and stepped through the absence of the gate and into the training center. When she entered, she entered with confidence, but not arrogance. She was standing up straight with her lips pressed together, as though she were entering a day at the office. She walked into the center of the room, standing before the Gamemakers. She studied each and every one of them, dressed in their ridiculous outfits with drinks in their hands and a feast on their table. They seemed to be jeering at each other, not really paying attention to whatever the tribute on the floor was doing. Eliana rolled her eyes, then cleared her throat to catch their attention.

“Eliana Winters, District Four.”

She announced her name and district with pride, and set into motion just after. She knew it had caught their attention, and she intended to keep it for her entire session. She ran straight to the agility course, where she requested a race with a trainer. She stepped onto her pedestal, not even bothering to look at her opponent, who she knew was looking at her. Instead, she stared straight ahead, already planning the most efficient route through the obstacles. She crouched down, tensing her muscles and readying herself to spring from the platform. The three tones that represented the tones of a racetrack sounded, and she leapt from the platform at the third one, dashing through the course. She did her best to stay on her feet, that had been her plan. She weaved and avoided the obstacles, racing past the finish line a mere second before her opponent did. She glanced up at the time and smiled, taking only a moment to catch her breath before she was off and up and down the climbing wall. She had taken the time to show her agility and athleticism before she got into the more valuable survival skills. She provided a quick demonstration of her first aid and knot tying skills before she grabbed what she had wanted to get her hands on the entire time, a trident.

The trident was cool to the touch, and weighted perfectly. She tossed it up once or twice, to get a feel for its weight, before she ran with it into the simulation chamber. She set it to a difficulty that was realistic in a Games-like setting, her against an alliance of two Careers. It timed how long she lasted. She took a deep breath and stepped into the chamber, hearing the metal hissing and the countdown until it began. Inside, pixelated trees appeared. She hadn’t heard of that before. She began to climb one, only a few holds up, just to see if she could. Since she could, she climbed the rest of the way up. The simulation began, and the room went dark. A night setting, Eliana thought to herself. The only light was from the glow of the pixel trees, which really wasn’t much. She stayed in her tree, her eyes darting around in an attempt to locate the Careers. She noticed one of them, holding an axe in their right hand, standing a few meters off. Behind that one, one with a sword. She silently moved from her tree to another, jumping down and rolling to continue her momentum. She silently crept towards the group of Careers, using the tree trunks as cover. She knew she’d take the first one by surprise, and then she’d have to fight the other two. Without warning, she launched her trident straight into the heart of the one in front, who she assumed was the leader, darting out from behind the tree. She rolled on the ground to avoid anything thrown at her, but the other Career seemed to be in shock. While it stood, frozen for only a second, Eliana took advantage. She retrieved her trident and prepared to fight the other one. The one with the sword swung at her with incredible force, but Eliana was prepared. She ducked under the swing and pivoted, kicking at the opponent’s leg. The one with the sword stumbled to the side, crashing into the other one. The opponent fell sideways, during which Eliana had been moving to kill. However, she scrambled back just as the one with the sword, regained their footing and jabbed. She jumped back, but the tip of the sword still touched her, and she felt a harsh sting where it did. She ignored the pain and lunged with her trident, spinning out of the reach of her opponent’s weapon, plunging it into their leg. The opponent sank to the ground in pain, and Eliana managed to finish it off. When the simulation ended, she wiped her forehead and steadied her breathing, exiting the doors and the room, with a tiny bow before her exit. She didn’t feel the need to do anything rebellious, and it wasn’t who she was. She just didn’t do that sort of thing. Besides, she felt like her performance spoke for itself, and so she left the room without any more words or gestures, and without so much as a glance towards the Gamemakers. (hide spoiler)]
