Aidan's a good guy. I'm looking forward to reading his book. I think Bobby Rose knew Aidan would look out for Sophie since he couldn't.
As a young man Adian was definitely the grownup in his family. That he took on Sophie's situation when she was nine showed a strength of character and a strong will not normally seen in someone so young. That he still feels a certain responsibility for her is just who he is. Bobby Rose must have known that Aidan was one of the good ones and that is why he trusted him with Sophie's welfare.
This tells me that Aidan takes responsibility for problems that aren't his. Like him or not, Bobby Rose dropped the ball with his daughter.

Bobbie Rose did his best to protect Sophie from the blow back because of his actions. If Aidan wasn't a good choice, he would have found someone else. At least that is the way I see it.

I thought he just left his daughter to deal with social services alone and Aidan jumped in. But it is possible that Bobbie Rose asked him to.
I don't think Bobbie picked Aidan...not sure if they were acquainted then??? Any way, I think Aidan saw a need that tugged on his heartstrings. It made him angry that she was being harrassed by police so he stepped in to help her. Eventually seeing a need, he contacted Bobbie about making him her guardian since Bobbie had to stay hidden from police.
Bobby had to disappear real suddenly, and I don't think he thought Sophie's situation through completely. Adian stepped up after seeing she was all alone, and Bobby agreed.
Good points. To me, it seems like Bobby has a sixth sense about people and their true intentions. He also knows a lot about what is happening around him, even when hiding. I don't think he picked Aidan before he stepped up to protect Sophie, but Bobby wouldn't give Aidan guardianship if he didn't trust Aidan to do the right thing for Sophie.
