Welcome Reindeer! :) It is a series but they might be a stand alone series.

I'm going to read them all. I'm not per se scared of Megalodons, but electric eels and jellyfish? 🥴 I guess they just seem so implacable and indifferent to humans (like Lovecraftian Old Ones). Plus I have an unrelenting phobia of water, so Marine Horror (one of my favorite sub-subgenres) is Aversion Therapy.

Nice! I am going to read them too eventually. Michael Cole writes great sea creature horror. I have read his books: Thresher and Scar. Both great books.

I am 16% into the story - really good so far - lots of action.
I am curious about something though....(view spoiler)

Glad to have ya, Reindeer! And ditto what Marie said about Cole's sea creature horror. I'm loving his books!Yes, Marie, I agree, this is great so far! As for your spoiler, I believe it's because (view spoiler)
I started this AM (taking a short hiatus from Arkhangelsk, which is superb). I have to say, the title is spot on! I'm at p. 140, so almost half done. 98% sure I've read one or more of his, but will have to check my GR shelves to see what. I do love "Nature fights back" subgenre and anything Marine Horror (Lake Horror too).

Thanks Vickie for the insight into my wonderings. :)

Wow Reindeer! That is what I call "flying"! lol :)

Finished and enjoyed it as well. Now I want to jump right into the second one since it has the same characters and to see what happens!
I'm really enjoying these stories by Cole. He's becoming a fast favorite, like Shea. However, have you noticed how formulaic his stories are? Or is it just me? Guy and girl with past issues or as love interests and fighting bad guys as well as the sea creature(s). Not that I really care because I'm such a junkie for this B horror kind of stuff.😆
Cool on finishing the book Vickie. I am still reading it but I agree with you about the same type of scenario with his books of the love interests and the sea creature battles. It is funny that you brought that up as I was thinking the same thing as I have been reading it.
If you want to read book 2 go ahead but I am going to have to wait on it for now as I have some other books I need to read first. :) I think book 2 has the same characters but book 3 does not as I checked ahead to see what the books were about. lol I was curious. lol
Those who liked Megalodon: Bloodbath, I suggest Survivor Atoll: A Creature Horror Novel, first in a Creature Feature Marine Horror trilogy. The first is a really clever premise (I think), set in the Bermuda Triangle, not too Splattery, and starring my favorite Marine Cryptid!
