Megan McLaughlin | 2 comments I am not neurodivergent myself, but I am most definitely pro-neurodiversity. If anyone is still there you might be interested in my new book

What Today Withholds: Autism and Human Rights in America

on Amazon at:

I would be very interested in your responses

Selene | 9 comments Greetings, Megan. I haven't seen much activity here recently, but am definitely interested in your work. This is mine, presently between publishers. https://www.amazon.com/Troubleshootin...

I hope to hear back from a small press that presently has the full series under consideration sometime in the next few weeks. If you're interested in this #ownvoice work, I'd be happy to send a PDF of the final galley proof.

James Christie | 3 comments Hi Megan,

I don't think there'd been much activity in years, so I'd like to reply as a courtesy. I'm autistic, took a rather dramatic trek across America from Scotland years ago to meet a Hollywood actress on Sunset Boulevard, wrote the book on it and, er, not a lot of people noticed.

I'm pretty much a burnt-out wreck these days (kidding, sort of), but I'll have a look at your book on Amazon.

Mine was called "Dear Miss Landau."

Best wishes,

James Christie

Megan McLaughlin | 2 comments Hi James. Love the title of your book. I too identify as a burnt-out wreck.

James Christie | 3 comments Hi Megan,

Sorry about the late reply. I was off seeing Point Lobos near Carmel and indulging in nostalgia about Drusilla (Buffy the Vampire Salyer) and Point Lobos (long story).

Actually, "Dear Miss Landau" was originally a provisional title, deriving from the way Frank Doel used to address Helene Hanff in "84 Charing Cross Road" - Dear Miss Hanff. I started off addressing Juliet with equal formality and only lightened up later. I felt if I started agonizing about the title too much I'd never write the book, so I settled on that provisionally and then everyone started telling me it was wonderful, perfect etc...

Well, managed another US trip despite the ever-present stress (quite chuffed I can get through airports on my own) and maybe the strange story about me, Buffy, Juliet and Dru will one day go viral.

Trust your sales are going well?

Best wishes,

James Christie
