Hello everyone,
My name is Bek Duishekeev. I am a Kyrgyz-American writer and founder of Manas Heritage Press. I am currently preparing MANAS: The Love, Book One of a planned nine-book prose saga adapted from the Kyrgyz heroic epic Manas.
I am looking for a small number of thoughtful beta readers who enjoy historical fiction, literary epic, myth retellings, world literature, or character-driven fantasy.
This is an unpublished manuscript, and I am not asking for public reviews at this stage. I am looking for honest private feedback on the reading experience.
I would especially appreciate thoughts on:
whether the opening chapters are engaging
whether the characters feel alive and emotionally clear
whether the world is understandable for readers unfamiliar with Kyrgyz culture
where the pacing slows down
whether the story makes you want to continue
I would prefer to begin by sending Chapters 1–3 first. If the book feels like a good fit, I can send more afterward.
