Welcome and Introductions
I'm Ellie, and I'm a teen Christian writer. Mary, my co-moderator, is my bff, and we are both obsessed with reading, especially Christian books. I love writing(currently working on worldbuilding for a new fantasy series), playing piano and some other instruments, dancing, and reading. Some of my favorite books include Melanie Cellier's Four Kingdoms series, the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson, the Out of Time trilogy by Nadine Brandes, and the Tethered World Chronicles by Heather L.L. FitzGerald(and I'm basically incapable of narrowing down my favorite books beyond that XD) I will also note that I'm a tiny bit of a Star Wars nerd. And a nerd in general.🤫
I'm Mary, also the other co-moderator/bff to Ellie XD
I (like Ellie said) LOVE Christian books. I am currently working on a fantasy novel (which will hopefully be released in July 2024). I also play the piano, along with violin, guitar, and percussion. My favorite books include (though are not limited to): The Wingfeather Sage by Andrew Peterson and the Hagenheim series by Melanie Dickerson. I am also a bit of a nerd (though not as much as Ellie XD) and I am a Lord of the Rings nerd.

You literally just read through my intro and used that to make your own🤣🤣 Which is totally valid. And yes, I am probably a bigger nerd than you(..."my most excellent Theophilus")
Hello I’m Alana! I’m a 15 year old Christian- I’ve been a Christian for most of my life just bcs of my environment :)I’ve gone through a lot and my faith is very strong!
I love pretty much any Christian book with Christianity 😂 I have read a lot of more Adventist books just because my great grandmother is Adventist and loves giving me books
I like writing and have a few books in the making
(If you’d like to read my progress so far let me know and I’ll send you a link)
I’m excited to make friends and talk about Jesus!!
(P. S. Thx for the invite Mary 😆)
I'm so glad you joined! So, welcome! As you can probably tell, this is a small group so far, but we hope to grow! (If you have any friends you want to invite that would be appreciated lol). I would love to read your progress (then I would be an un-official proofreader XD). Can't wait to see what God will do through this group!
Yeah, she said you guys were getting to know each other and I was super glad to hear it! I I Can get to know you as well😉😉
No thanks, I don’t think my parents are comfortable with me texting with people they don’t really know or that I don’t know Irl🙂 Are you comfortable messaging on Goodreads?
Hi, I'm Catherine! Unfortunately, I haven't read many Christian books yet, but I loved Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis. I love doing anything with my friends and family, and I love listening to a lot of Christian contemporary worship music. So nice to be here! :D
Welcome Catherine! So glad to have you! I’m sure you’ll discover a ton of Christian books with us- there’s lots of good ones out there!😉
I’ll have to make a list for people who want good Christian books sometime- my great grandma is Adventist and have me lots of AMAZING Christian books that have been very inspiring. The one I can think of off the top of my head is called That Book in the Attic. Every time I think Christian book that’s the first book in my mind!
Heyyyyyy guys! I'm Abigail, and I'm a Christian teen author ♡ (of The Lost Island) I love love love Christian books, and just clean books as well. My most recent favorite book I've read is Something I Am Not because it is a modern retelling of the life of Joseph and it's really good (and also really hard to read 😭 and definitely for older teens)Mary and Ellie Ann are awesome mods btw 🫶🏾
I may not be that active, but I'll contribute/post when I can (because of school 😿) be blessed y'all
Welcome Abigail! We're so happy to have you! I'm a teen writer myself and I think it's awesome that you're a writer- and I really liked the Lost Island!!
Thank you so much! <3<3
And don't feel like you have to contribute a whole lot, however much you can is wonderful!;-)

To back up what Ellie said, yes we are SO glad you joined, Abigail!! Loved The Lost Island… sequel please?? 🤣 It’s fine that your not super active we are just glad to gain another member! 😊. Especially an author of a book we both love. (Same with Caitlin Miller 😁😁).
Hi I'm Amelia My favorite Christian books are probably The Screwtape Letters and any Missionary Stories.
Welcome Amelia! We’re glad to have you!! I haven’t read either of those but hope to read the Screwtape Letters soon!
Welcome Amelia! I currently have The Screwtape Letters checked out from my churches library! I’ll hopefully read it as soon as I get the time (along with the rest of my mountain of books 🤣)
Hello, I'm Beth. I just joined. I am not yet published, but I have a Christian YA Mystery currently with an agent, and hopefully I will hear soon if it will be picked up. I am writing particularly for teen girls and young adult women, as a way to encourage spiritual growth in young women. I have a question - what YA mysteries are popular and are you seeing any specifically written for a female audience?
Welcome Beth! We’re honored to have you join us! That’s awesome that you have a book with an agent! I’m an aspiring author myself😉 and I love that you’re specifically writing specifically for teen girls and young women. I’m not a huge mystery reader but one I can think of is The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill. I haven’t read it, but I think it is aimed more toward girls. Not entirely sure though.
Welcome, Beth! We are glad you joined! I can't wait to read your book (when it comes out). You must have worked hard to have it with an agent! I unfortunately can't thing of any mysteries off the top of my head, although if I do, I'll be sure to tell you!
Thank you Ellie Ann and Mary! It's wonderful to know your are writing as teenagers! That is fantastic, and don't let anything discourage you. Looking back, I got way off track when I wanted to write because of other issues that took over my life. Anyway, thanks for starting this group. I've been working with a writer's group and they all say to get involved on GR and other things that are way out of my comfort zone. But all thanks and glory goes to God, who makes all things possible.
Hi guys! I'm Olivia and I've been homeschooled almost my whole life. Im 16 and a junior. I have three younger sisters and have moved 8 times. Now I live in Massachusetts. My dad's a pastor and we actually started a church in 2019 which has many of it's own challenges. I recently got my first job and am very excited to start saving money for college
Welcome Olivia! We're so glad to have you! That's awesome that you got a job! And I've been homeschooled for almost my entire life too!
Hi Olivia! We were a ministry family too- my dad was a pastor, and then my husband for some years in the 90's and '20s. It definitely has its challenges and we moved around a lot. Bless you!
I have relatives and friends who have been homechooled, and are all amazingly strong and talented people. What are the things you like best about it?
I really like the flexibility of being homeschooled. Like today my grandparents were visiting us so we took the day off of school
Hello guys! I'm Sonia, 17, and I'm currently doing my A-Levels in Germany. I live with my mother in a nice apartment in the beautiful state of Saxony. My family on my mother's side are from Spain and are Christians not by church but by faith. I found Jesus only a few months back and I struggle from time to time and still have a lot to learn. I joined here because I believe that having people who also love Jesus only reinforces my faith. I'm not a writer but with the right book, I spend hours reading. :)
Welcome Sonia! That’s cool! What are A-Levels, out of curiosity? I’ve never heard of them before🤔 and that’s awesome that you found Jesus! That’s a huge deal! I totally agree that being around like-minded believers helps you grow as a believer. We love Jesus and books around here! I’ll send you a friend request😉
Advanced level qualifications (known as A levels) are subject-based qualifications that can lead to university, further study, training, or work. In Germany you do your A-Levels in the last two years of high school. I'm doing them with advances in English and German.
Cool, Sonia! I don't think we really have anything like that in the U.S., except for maybe dual-enrollment, where you can take college classes in high school for high school and college credit. Then again, I'm homeschooled, so there might be something I don't know about🤪
Hey!!! I'm Corinne, I'm almost 15, I'm homeschooled and going to be a sophomore in fall, I'm working on writing my own book. I'm trying to get into reading more Christian Fiction, I just started with it a few months ago. I've been a Christian since the age of 6, and I'm still growing a relationship with Him. I joined because I would love to get some book recommendations, but also maybe meet some likeminded people 🫶🏻
Hey Corinne! Welcome to the group! This is definitely a great place to get some book recs and make some friends. 😉😁
Hey guys! I’m Shiloh :) I’m a 15 year old Christian girl who travels the U.S. with my family I ADORE reading, and always get excited when I see a book with faith content in it 🤍
Some of my favorite christian books are
The Hagenheim Series by Melanie Dickerson (currently reading book 5)
The Sweet Seasons Series by Debby Viguié
Wonderland Creek by Lynn Austen
And the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson :)
This is such a cute group and I hope to get to know you guys better and have some good convos about christian fiction! 🤗 <3

In this group, we'll read a lot of teen Christian fiction, though we will read some middle grade or adult fiction, as long as it's okay for teens to read! You don't have to be a teen to be a part of this group, just have to enjoy teen fiction.;-)
