It seems a lot of books with a romantic plot or subplot focus on characters who are teenagers or in their 20s. But love isn't just something that happens when you're young! Let's find a read where people in their 30s and beyond still find love... and/or something spicier.

Jeanne | 30 comments T. Kingfisher's paladin series focuses on a different couple with each book. I'm not sure of the ages of the different couples, but they feel as though they are in their 30s.

Jeanne Dams writes a cozy mystery where the main character is in her sixties. She's a widow in the first book, and meets a man her age who is single. Over the first few books, they fall in love.

Jen W. (piratenami) I second the recommendation of T. Kingfisher's fantasy romances. I am pretty sure all of the main characters in the paladin books are over thirty, and also Swordheart would count (same world, different characters with some minor character crossover).

I also have Role Playing by Cathy Yardley on my radar, which features a romance between two nerdy types in their late forties/early fifties.

I'm not a fan of romance but, looking at the description and reviews, this sounds like something I could enjoy. Thanks for the suggestion.

Aquaria Not a romance fan. This was the closest I could accept:

Matt Haig – The Midnight Library

Denise | 55 comments I read Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. It is not a romance novel but it DOES have two separate minor subplots involving romance between characters over 30: a pair in their early 30's, and one in their 70's
