Recommend books here!

I’m looking for a good, clean, Christian romance! What would y’all recommend?

Anna (pripsreads) | 4 comments Hi all, need book recs. I am okay with both fiction and non-fiction. No YA/fantasy/horror please. I am okay with holiday reads as well. It’s been a while I have read a book that has really made me laugh, so if you have any recommendations, I am all ears. And short books are welcome too, I have to read 6 more books to meet my goal this year. Thanks!

message 18: by Anna (new)

Anna (pripsreads) | 4 comments @Alana - try books by Richard Paul Evans. He’s one of my favourites. Just finished reading The Christmas Promise. You might like The Sunflower. He’s my go to. Another one is When Calls The Heart Series. Don’t remember the author.

I would recommend the Christmas in my Heart series (it’s a lil early but yeah) also any book by James Herriot if you like animals, (this is hard for me because I mostly read fantasy haha)

message 20: by Anna (new)

Anna (pripsreads) | 4 comments I think I have read a couple of James Harriot. I love cats. I have 2 :D will check out the other one. Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate any recs but my only requirement is they are clean or mostly. I’m fine with cursing/violence, but not really spice

Kenzie! (Profesional book nerd :D ) | -2 comments I would recommend Renegades by Marissa Meyer! It's a fantasy book and there's no spice :D

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 7 comments Here's one that might appeal to a lot of you: Girl on Trial by Kathleen Fine. Kathleen is a fellow Maryland author who I met last November at a book event where we were selling our books and performing readings. She and I were next to each other at the table, and after hearing her describe her book, I picked it up.

It deals with a young lady in high school who comes from a difficult background. She is obsessed with becoming popular and to that end falls in with the wrong crowd. She knows she's making some bad choices, but she can't seem to pull away. And then something goes horribly wrong with a babysitting job, and she finds herself on trial for the negligent deaths of her young charges.

It's a compelling read, combining mystery, thriller, and coming-of-age elements. I should include a content warning here: although there is nothing terribly explicit, this is a rough book, involving depictions of alcohol and drug use, underage sex, and rape. There is some strong language as well. However, it's all in the context of a young woman struggling against incredible odds and, ultimately, learning to make brave and healthy decisions.

When I bought the book, Kathleen told me she wasn't sure it would be of that much interest to me. I suspect she sees it as more of a young woman's read than an old(er) man's. But it was so well-written that I was drawn in and couldn't put it down.

Tuva (Lanas version)💋 | 1 comments I wanna read a hockey romance but it seems like every book I find that is hockey romance has spice in it, and I don’t want any spice. Does someone know a good hockey romance without spice?
