Congrats Natasha!!! so glad that you have enjoyed the categories and found some gems.

I am with you and my last book was Held which was the winner of the Giller prize this year.

for all... is there still interest in BINGO 2025??? I always like the challenge as it helps me to read things I might not always pick up but also know it is a quieter group.

@Natasha... if there is interest from the group, please send me your square pick for the new year and congrats again!!!

Allison ༻hikes the bookwoods༺ (allisonhikesthebookwoods) | 1783 comments I think this is my first year not completing the bingo in this group. I’ve had a difficult year and lost some of my gusto for reading challenges along the way. For many months, I struggled to read at all and mostly listened to audiobooks of old favourites. I’m happy just to be reading again for the time being. Happy New Year’s Eve!

To participate at your own pace. We are glad to have you as part of our group!!

Kathleen | 546 comments I have Held on hold at the library and plan to read it when it is available. That will finish my BINGO, but not until next year.

Alan Scheer | 150 comments Susan what did you think about Held? To my surprise I stuck with it even though it made no sense to me. When she won I think the video which highlighted the book talked about how there is a link from each section to the next. I didn’t pick up on that at all so one day I will try it again. I stuck with it-and because it’s such a confusing narrative normally I wouldn’t stick with this type of book-because her prose is incredibly beautiful and precise. She describes something and I remember thinking-yes that is so accurate and so well-thought out. But it’s not a book that otherwise engaged me.
