I never believed it was true. I was seriously ticked off that he didn't tell Kate. Not cool, Curran! I can't remember Kate's reaction but I hope she was pissed. :) I know he said it was because it had to look real and Kate can't lie yada yada yada but that excuse didn't float with me. He brought her into extremely hostile territory and she went for him and for his Pack and he made the whole situation worse by adding a personal layer to it and humiliating her.
Deep down, I knew it couldn't be true but I was livid that Curran could be so insensitive to Kate's feelings. He was dead wrong in not including her in the plan. Kate's reaction was to walk away from him, saying they were done because it was a defining moment for her...it was all about trust and I think she may have believed it was because she wasn't a shifter.
Kate would have handled the ruse perfectly like she does most things. Curran learned a huge lesson here. He almost lost her.

Absolutely not! I never believed it for one second and made the connection to the attack on the boat straight away. Curran obviously had something up his sleeve and if Kate hadn't been emotionally involved she would have seen straight through him. While I understand Curran's motivation and his desire to protect Kate at all costs, he made a bad call here. He should have been open and honest with her and trusted her to help rather than hinder. Again, it is just a reminder that they have a way to go in their relationship but I'm 100% sure they'll get there eventually.
One thing I loved about this whole situation is just how deeply Kate and Curran's feelings go. They would willingly sacrifice what they have together in order to protect each other - so sweet, but stupid and unnecessary. *sigh*
I have to say that this one aspect of the story almost made me not read it. I really hated how Curran handled this and I don't think it was consistent with the character the authors have been developing for so many books. It really, really bugged me!!
It didn't bother me that much because I understood his reasons. I was much more upset by Doolittle's behavior and Adam's in
Lauren! I've been trying to talk myself into reading Night Broken since its release and your comment just set me back. ;)
Kidding aside, I knew it wasn't real (Curran's behavior toward Lorelei) but that didn't piss me off any less.

Sorry Monica. It is still a good book :0)
I was kidding. Mostly. ;) I do plan on getting to it in the next few months regardless. I just want to catch up with Alpha and Omega first.

Hey Monica, I had some troubles with Adam in Night Broken too but it really is a good story. I read it when it came out and listened to the audiobook a little while ago. The audiobook was a real treat.

Erin, that puts me so much at ease! I'm adding it to my reading list for next month then.
Thanks, Laura, that also helps me!

Curren went down in my estimation a bit. Kate has proved herself over and over and he still thinks he has to protect her. I was not surprised she was hurt.
