I have already read this book & enjoyed it, though it's a bit dark than The Silent Patient.

Henry sounds like a stalker. I hope he won't hurt her or anyone else.

(view spoiler)[Fosca sounds genuine when he explained what happened to Zoe. But I have a feeling he is not what he appears. Especially when Conrad sai d the professor bought drugs from Conrad.
I wonder what Zoe is hiding from Mariana. Something about Tara...or maybe about the professor.

Fred seems to want a date with Mariana. She agreed to meet him. I'm sure she will see him again. Maybe they will start dating despite Mariana having doubts.
I keep wondering when Henry will show up.

Another girl is killed. Before they said who, I alreayd knew it was her.

I wonder if the professor is really guilty. Probably not, things do seem to point into his direction.... But he does have an alibi and it would be too obvious.
I wish there was another likely suspect. That would make the book more interesting. I do think someone else did it, but who?

Offering Mariana the pinecone is a bit weird. I think she shouldn't have accepted the dinner invite

I didn't see it coming until the end that Zoe was the killer.
The professor was bad, but not a killer.

At first I really enjoyet the book, which is why I flew through it. But in part 4 it started to annoy me that everything was pointing towards the professor. It would have been better if there were more suspects.

Zoe sounds crazy. Split personality or just under influence of Sebastian?
Poor Mariana. This must be horrible for her. She couldn't even throw his shoes away at the start of the book and now she hates him. How things can change...right?

I'm surprised no one else joined in yet :( There must have been more people who voted for it. Maybe people have been too busy to read?

I would love to hear the thoughts of others about this book. Not much of a buddy read if I'm the only one.

You were right that this was darker than The Silent Patient. Still good, but I enjoyed The Silent Patient more. How about you?

Yes, me too. The Silent Patient is still my fav work of this author, but The maidens is good too, I loved the unique storyline and the whole setting, how the author weaved the atmosphere so that it felt sinister sometimes, if you get what I mean..I don't remember the exact details of the story since it's been a while I read it, but I do remember the mystery to be thoroughly intriguing and difficult to guess beforehand.

Yes that is what I liked about the book as well.
