Amy (Other Amy) | 756 comments And it's time to set up for 2024! Wow!

First, some reflections on my 2023 post, which is mainly that it was a bit unwieldy to actually use. Also, preplanning the whole challenge did not work for me. At All. Preslotting books was a bad idea. Other things I wish had been a bit more wieldy were the grouping of the planning topics - having one post per topic is just the way my brain works, even though it means having 52 planning posts. Also, the book to prompt posts mostly got in the way since I ended up not using a lot of the books I planned. So this year I think I'd like to add that information to the planning area as I fill the prompts, which should allow easy rearrangement. And having space for the readathon challenges in this post also pretty much got in the way; I think I'll be tracking that in the readathon space next year and just linking from here. Any reference material is also going in the respective planning spot this year so I don't have to spoiler tag it or scroll past it all the time.

Things that worked great last year? I really like the way my monthly reviews went for the months I was able to read, so I'm going to continue that format. Hopefully 2024 will be a kinder year for reading overall and I'll have more months reviewed in the end. 2023 was hideous that way.

[Note to self for 2025: I apparently need a preplanning slot ahead of the monthly summaries so my mind can deal with the format.]

**Visitors welcome; feel free to chat.**
