Description :آرثر جفري (Arthur Jeffery) (تـ 1959)، أستاذ اللغات الساميّة، ذكر في كتابه "معجم الالفاظ الغريبة في القرآن" 314 كلمة دخيلة على المعجم القرآني رتّبها حسب حروف المعجم في العربيّة. وقام منهجه على الخطوات الثلاث التالية:
أُولاها رصد معنى الكلمة الدخيلة في عدد من كتب التفسير القرآنيّ (خاصّة تفاسير الطبري والزمخشري والبيضاوي) ومن كتب علوم القرآن (خاصّة "الإتقان في علوم القرآن" للسيوطي)؛ وثانيتُها، تعيين معنى الكلمة لغة في المعاجم العربيّة، مثل "لسان العرب" لابن منظور و"المعرّب" للجواليقي؛ وثالثتهُما، ضبط أصول الكلمة موضوع الدرس في السريانيّة الآراميّة والعبريّة وذلك بإثبات رسمها وتعيين دلالتها.
