Gee-Gee I admit that I asked to review this novel because I love this series. The Russell-Holmes relationship from Russell's viewpoint has been rich in history, detail and suspense.
In Dreaming Spies, Russell and Holmes meet a fascinating Japanese woman, Haruki Sato on board and ocean liner traveling from India to Japan. Russell befriends Haruki in an interest of developing a new, stimulating relationship, and, leaning more about Japan before they disembark from the ship. Russell can't help but feel there is more to Haruki than is apparent. Once they reach Japan, her suspicion is confirmed as a mystery of international intrigue unfolds. Racing to stop an international revolution, Russell and Holmes follow each clue before an empire is toppled.
If you like historical novels and a Holmesien setting, this novel is for you.
