Lily (joy1) | 227 comments Attended an interview of this poet today. She is a translator, poet, and novelist (latter soon to be published). Idra teaches at Princeton, is a Barnard graduate, and grew up in Appalachian Pennsylvania as a member of a sophisticated family.

Among her translations is one of Clarice Lispector, being discussed elsewhere on these boards (in a different translation?).

Idra oeuvre of poetry includes a collection letters in response to quotations from the life of Clarice: Clarice: The Visitor. These poetry letters comprise about half of the book -- the remaining poems describe other "visitors" to her home and life.
