I did like (view spoiler)[that Wolf was not in this book. I did talk about my dislike for his character in my last review, so even though he did get away and is doing his own thing, I like that he is just occasionally popping up in the book to help with no real role. Next we need to get rid of Baxter. She is starting to get on my nerves with her entitled attitude and the way she treats everyone else like crap. Especially Thomas. (hide spoiler)]
The book was left with an open ending again like the first book. It’s not open ended enough that you NEED to read the next book immediately, but it’s open ended enough that it feels like a silly closing to a book that took so long to get to the point. The prologue was not necessary at all. It started the book off by confusing the reader than not even being relevant to the ending. The ending itself was very similar to the first book(view spoiler)[ so if we see Rouche hiding out somewhere just like Wolf is in this book, I wouldn't be surprised (hide spoiler)].
