I have been racking my brain for years now: I seem to remember a book I used to love as a child. It’s about a (alien?) boy who is wearing a big blue coat to school and he doesn’t want to take it off, so no one sees the big tail he has. I remember the whole mood to be quite lonely and dark but perhaps that was just me. I think there was a UFO on one of the last pages. HELP! 🖤

I was a child in the 90s but the book may have been a bit older.
Was it a picture book or novel? It sounds like it could have been something by Bruce Coville or maybe R.L. Stine?
