This challenge is fabulous, Anne!! I feel like I could copy/paste the first 3 categories!!

I have most of the books ready to read, in the Realm of the Elderlings.

The Faithful & the Fallen is excellent from the first book to the last; as well as the Seven Kennings series. I need the next book to come out now. Either its out of almost.

Parable of the Sower was ssoooo good.

I hope you enjoy all of your picks. Good luck and happy reading 📚📚

I hope you enjoy all of your picks. Good luck and happy reading 📚📚."

The new Seven Kennings book is out. I pre-ordered it and got it a few weeks ago. I went to the recent book signing in Minneapolis, so all my books are signed.

I am excited for Parable of the Sower. I started it a little over a year ago, but I was still stressed out and burnt out from all the studying for my licensing exam (glad that's over), so I ended up setting it aside. I've decided to restart from the beginning since it has been so long.

Happy reading to you too! I need to go check out your challenges, although that can be dangerous. Sometimes I end up adding far too many books to my own TBR.

Eeepp! I need to order it .... NNEEEOOOWWW. It's so cool that you got a signed copy!! Woot!

I hope you enjoy Parable; you will see how much it parallels our current state in the U.S.

I am excited to have a signed copy. The author is super-nice too. He invited everybody to come to a steakhouse with him. If I hadn't been still recovering from a bad cold, I would have been tempted to join them. A couple got engaged at the signing too, which was cute.

From the book description, it sounded like it would parallel US events, but I'll have to wait and see what I think.

Anne | 456 comments I only have one book on my currently reading list, which feels strange. I normally have a half dozen or more, and instead I'm starting the year with basically a clean slate. I will be starting off the year by reading this book (Shadowmarch) and working on some library books (all counting toward my series challenge) before diving into my many other challenges.

I see you making progress, Anne.

I really should have put one of those Rivers of London books on my challenge, but maybe next year. I have so many that I am behind on.

Kudos on your progress!!

You really should add them. They are excellent.

Anne | 456 comments I had a great month of reading in January, making progress on several of my challenges. It's always nice to be on track after the first month while also knowing there is plenty of time left to catch up on any challenges that weren't your focus. I liked some of the books more than others, but there no real duds, so that is also a promising start.

January update:
1. 8/100 books, 3 in progress
2. 7/40 series books, 3 in progress
3. 0/10 nonfiction
4. 0/10 classics (novels or plays)
5. 2/12 2024 Reading challenge
6. 6/25 Motley challenge
7. 0/3 past reading challenge books
8. 0/20 books owned as of December 31, 2023, 1 in progress
9.a. 1/5 countries
9.b. 0/5 states

I am doing particularly well on that challenge. I finished 3 more today. For the first time I can remember since I joined Goodreads, I completely cleared my "currently reading" list. Of course, I will start another book before bed tonight, so it won't be empty long.

Anne | 456 comments I had a good month of reading in February, and I've made a lot of progress on some of my goals. Some of my books were quite enjoyable, including my two selections from this year's list. I did have one DNF on a book that I thought I was going to like, so that was disappointing. I was reading it as an audiobook, and I had sped it up to 1.35x, and it still felt slow and boring. Oh, well.

February update:
1. 19/100 books, 3 in progress
2. 17/40 series books, 2 in progress
3. 1/10 nonfiction, 1 in progress
4. 0/10 classics (novels or plays)

I am definitely ahead of schedule, and I'm even further ahead now at the start of April. I have a trip coming up later this spring (Iceland and more!), so I know I will have a few weeks where I don't get much reading done. Summer is also my busy season at work, so sometimes I get a bit behind then, so every area I get ahead early in the year helps a lot.

Anne | 456 comments I had a great month of reading. I am ahead of schedule on many challenges, which will really help as the year goes on. I'm leaving for a long vacation in a few weeks, and I won't have much time to read on my trip. I am also getting into the busy time of year at work, so I may not have much time to read when I get back either.

April Update:
1. 41/100 books, 6 in progress
2. 29/40 series books, 4 in progress
3. 3/10 nonfiction, 2 in progress
4. 5/10 classics (novels or plays)

Sometimes we all need a break. I got back from my vacation 2 days ago. I managed to finish one book during my trip, and I'm okay with that. I was too busy/distracted with my travels to spend much time reading.

Anne | 456 comments As expected, I didn't get as much read in May as I normally would, but it wasn't a complete loss. I still finished 9 books, and some counted toward my challenges.

My vacation was amazing. Iceland and Norway were beautiful, and I enjoyed my time in Belgium and England also. I had a great time seeing various natural and architectural wonders. It was nice to have a break from all my work stress also.

May Update:
1. 50/100 books, 5 in progress

Anne | 456 comments I have about a week left, and I'm getting close. I have one reading challenge book to go, and I need to read 2 more books that I owned before this year. The Woman in White works for both, and I found a short book I've had for many years but have never read for the other. I have one challenge that was always planned to continue into next year, so that leaves only one challenge is likely to not be completed. I increased my number of past challenge books for my 2025 goals, and I'm comfortable with missing on that one. I did a great job on my challenges this year despite being very busy.
