hey guys share ur thoughts on the hunger games if u read it with us this month!!!

yay!! I started!! it’s so similar to the movie so far and I absolutely love the movie 🫶🏼🫶🏼

I ended up reading all 3 books and watching all 4 movies. I had recently read A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but have yet to see the movie.

It’s crazy what a different perspective I have on these after reading them 14 years later. Some things really hit a little closer to home this time around. I will admit that I didn’t find Katniss to be the most sympathetic hero the first go around. I definitely had a new appreciation for her character’s struggle with this read through. I found Gale so frustrating this time where I didn’t really mind him before.

I’m currently 22% thru and it’s not bad so far but I wish the chapters were slightly shorter

I remember reading this trilogy years ago, and I as I am re-reaading everything (I'm new to the bookclub) I am thinking WTF Katniss! aren't you way too young to be in a love triangle!? She was 16!! Me at 16 would not even pay attention to anyone romantically. Then I didn't remember so many small details that were not mentioned in the movies like how many times your name can be in the "anual lottery" I don't hate it, this was my favourite trilogy 10 or so years ago, now it's kind of funny

i read this earlier this month when i wasnt even in this group but i thought i could discuss it too! @kaylin i knowww aaa i loved it so much! this was definitely one of those books where the main character can actually be my favourite character, which is very rare for me but i loved katniss sm!!

omg Ik right and I’ve seen the movies a million times before reading this but I still loved it sm and I’m a biggg hunger games fan so it was nice to get little bits of info that we didn’t get in the movies

I am halfway through catching fire RN; I got the series for Christmas!!
