❡MaRisa (risamareads) | 17 comments I'm Leveling up the Challenge from 60 to 75 this year. I bought too many books as always and am still drowning in my TBR, so my goal for 2024 in addition to this challenge, is to keep my newly acquired number of books lower than my read number.

📚 TBR
My Physical TBR Shelf
My 24 books in 2024 Shelf

Read from pre 2024 physical TBR
78/75

I read a lot of my PTBR books as audiobooks, but I do still count it anyways. I don't see listening to audiobooks as any different than reading them physically.
These weeks were really filled with great books, and even if my January book of the month stayed being Today I'll Talk to Him, I had a lot of books to pick from. February also started off really well with a 5⭐️ read and I got a lot of anticipated books I'll be reading this month too!

Hot & Cold (Westwell, #3) by Lena Kiefer A Study in Scarlet / The Sign of the Four by Arthur Conan Doyle Im Bann des Zyklopen (Percy Jackson, #2) by Rick Riordan Hunter (Boston Belles, #1) by L.J. Shen Villain (Boston Belles #2) by L.J. Shen
Monster (Boston Belles, #3) by L.J. Shen Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Engel der Nacht (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick Beastly (Kendra Chronicles, #1) by Alex Flinn

I had some close calls to dnf-ing books this month, but I did pull through after all. Writing this in march already I can say though, that it made me more open to dnf-ing, since I can't believe how stubborn I got for some of the books. And for what? To finish a book that made me feel frustrated more than anything else? But I also had a lot of good reads this month, I had some 5⭐️s and I did have trouble deciding on a month favorite but it ended up being a book that I can't count here because it was an audiobook I bought in January. The book was Murtagh - Eine dunkle Bedrohung.

Loathe to Love You (The STEMinist Novellas, #1-3) by Ali Hazelwood

This month I didn't read much. I also DNFed two books and almost DNFed another, which is rare for me. But I still had fun with some books and was very happy about rereading a childhood favorite of mine as an audiobook.

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes, #9) by Arthur Conan Doyle

I read some TBR veterans and finished some series, so this month was great even if the actual number of PTBR books read wasn't very high.

❡MaRisa (risamareads) | 17 comments I finished my Mount TBR El Toro Challenge early, but I'll not upgrade tiers ^^ I'll continue focusing on my physical TBR, but I'm happy I made this goal! I overall read way more of my physical TBR this year than ever, and I did control my buying a bit more (even if I still bought a lot of audio- and printed books). Next year I will up my challenge even more and I have some pretty good books lined up for me ^^ There were a few books here and there I felt that my taste grew out of, but those were a handful at most and I am as excited as I was when buying my books to read them ^^

The thing that kind of went on the back burner a bit, was nonfiction. I mostly have reference books, reading most other nonfiction digitally, so I ended up reading almost no nonfiction this year so far. But I can't say that I mind it too much.

Thanks for having me, and I'll be looking forward to joining the 2025 iteration of this challenge 🎉
