All I can remember is that the newlywed disobeys her husband's firm order not to go sailing on the lake that day as she usually does. She goes ahead and sails anyway and is almost killed in a violent storm.
Does this ring any bells for you?
I'm not sure if that's it. I did find a picture of the cover with a redhead on it,but it's not the cover I remember. Kris wrote: "Tisha: The Wonderful True Love Story of a Young Teacher in the Alaskan Wilderness by Robert Specht?"
Hmmm...not really. I don't know why I can't remember anything from the book itself. My great memory is joked about in our family, that I never forget anything! Maybe it will come back to me in bits and pieces. Laurie wrote: "Sandra wrote: "Hi! When I was a child in the 1970s, I used to take this book out of the library a lot. How about this cover of Tisha: The Wonderful True Love Story of a Young Teacher in the Alaskan Wilderness?

No, sorry. The cover had the girl either in 1/4 profile or just the back of her head. As if she were walking away from the artist.
Sorry, I tried to delete the previous post when I read the OP more carefully, but I guess it didn't work.
That's OK. :)Pamela wrote: "Sorry, I tried to delete the previous post when I read the OP more carefully, but I guess it didn't work."
I'm going to throw this in, The King's Daughter first published 1974. It takes place in Canada, there is a boating accident, but not a storm. The man she marries has two children.
Aaack. I am intrigued, too. I read "Tisha" several ++ times over the years and loved it, especially because it was about real people and places, and of course, because I love Alaska stories. Now, I want to find out what story you are looking for because it sounds like something I would love to read also. Hope you solve the mystery!
Got to be Love is Forever by Margaret E. Bell. Cover matches and the review mentions how she gets caught in a storm.
I am sure that's it!!Thank you so much!
How do I mark as Solved?

Rainbowheart wrote: "Got to be Love is Forever by Margaret E. Bell. Cover matches and the review mentions how she gets caught in a storm."That's the one I've been trying to remember too. I barely remembered the author had 3 names and that the last name was Bell. I kept looking for books by Marguerite Bell and couldn't find anything.
Can't wait to order the book and read it again. :D

The thing that brought this to my mind was getting a Kindle offer for "Mrs. Mike" by Benedict and Nancy Freedman. I went to my local library and looked at MM and I am pretty sure it is not that book.
I'm sorry--I don't remember anything about the plot.
