Not sure if this is the right place to post this but, what is considered Cornell Woolrich's "best' novel... "The Btide Wore Black"

Thanks,

Hi, Bob.

I've read TBWB, also I Married a Dead Man, The Night has a Thousand Eyes, Phantom Lady and Black Alibi.

My preference would be Bride or Night has a ...

That said, for 3/4 of it's length, Black Alibi was one of the tensest thrillers I've ever read, only letting down in the final quarter. Before reading it, I would never have expected a scene of a young girl going to get something for her father's dinner could generate suspense, but it can.

I'm sure there are others here who have read more Woolrich than I have, so maybe someone else can offer a more definitive answer.
