This thread is to discuss The Mime Order, the second book in the Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

I'm a bit early, but I just finished the book I was reading, so I think I'm going to start this one already! :)

December was a busy month and got involved with reading Elantris.
I am hoping to start the Bone Season soon, but will be a month behind.

I've read about a 100 pages now. (view spoiler)[ I must say that I really need to get back into the story again. I don't recognize all of the terms used, but I can understand the story. She is back with Jaxon now and someone that is searched by Scion, so I'm curious how that will continue. I hope she'll be able to find other survivors and connect with them and that she also will be able to start going into other persons dreamscapes properly again. it's her best weapon. I'm also curious if the warden will find a way to contact her again. So far lots of questions and little anwers. (hide spoiler)]

I'm currently on chapter 11, about 150 pages in.

(view spoiler)[ I don't really like this book so far. It feels like it isn't moving along. The rephiam aren't really in the book only in the thoughts of Paige. It feels like there is no goal to it. If it continues like this, I don't know if I will finish this book, let alone read the next one.. I thought the first book of the series was much more interesting. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Still don't really care about the story unfortunately.. The fighting at the end wasn't really my cup of tea either. I'm glad Paige won, but it was also what I expected. It was unexpected that the rephiam came and have shown themselves now. So far, this story really didn't peak my interests.. (hide spoiler)]

Since I haven't heard from anyone and I didn't really like this book, I've decided to discontinue reading this series and so I won't join buddy reads for this the next months.

I haven't seen Dominique and with Odette and Michelle pulling out, I'll be canceling the rest of this series. Let me know if something changes.

Since the majority won't be going forward, it's better just to cancel the rest. I'll probably continue some other time by myslef.
