My favorite part is this,I checked out and got into my car and drove to the apartment. When I got to my room and got dressed Juliet came to my door looking white as snow. I rushed to her, nervous and scared for her. I touched her forehead feeling nothing then I looked at her face and I saw it in her eyes and knew it was about Jackson.
“What did he do?” I said in a slow deafening voice. If he had hurt Juliet in any way I would hunt him down no matter what.
“He uhm, texted me saying he didn’t mean to and started giving me threat letters. Apparently he has been watching me for a long time, Nicky I am scared, like scared when daddy would hit us scared.” I held on to her and she did too.
“Do you still want to go?” I asked bringing her to my bed and give her a glass of water.
“I do but I also don't, Nicky. I don’t want to miss out on this event, but I don’t want to be near Jackson.” She said drinking the water and calming her breathing.
“Jules if you want to go then go I don’t give a freaking thought about what Jackson wants. Okay you need to show him that you can be brave, that you are brave and that he can’t scare you anymore. And if he tries even to talk to you I will have my team destroy him. Now go get your dress on and we can go get ice cream before the dance.” I said, she left to go change and I went to my phone and called my team. Leonardo has always been a good person and the head of my team.
“Leonardo, j'ai besoin d'yeux partout au bal de Jules. Si vous voyez un enfant nommé Jackson s'approcher ou lui parler, je veux que vous l'envoyiez immédiatement.” Once I was done, I hung up and got changed.

Mikael dropped to his knees beside me."Where does it hurt?" He asked uncharacteristically soft. I nodded towards my calf, careful not to open my mouth in fear a cry of pain would come out instead of words. My head was already pounding as a small trickle of blood ran down my face, any loud noise would only make the headache worse.
Mikael looked at me reassuringly as he tugged lightly at the dress, bringing it up mid-thigh. His fingers brushed the gash on my calf, and I clamped my mouth shut, but not before a whimper could escape my lips. His eyes flew to mine, those beautiful amber eyes darkened with something I could not put my finger on. He turned back to look at my calf, a strand of silky deep brown hair falling over his forehead.
I tilted my head back in an attempt to ease a bit of the pain while Mikael carefully assessed how deep the wound was and before long, he pulled out his knife, the sound startling me.
Mikael barked out a quick laugh before he said, “I’m not going to hurt you. I’m going to cut a piece of fabric from your dress and use it to wrap your leg.” I relaxed my posture as much as I could, berating myself for falling and hitting my head on that idiotic log. I tried to center my eyes on the top of Mikael’s head, but my vision kept blurring. Swaying in my seat I tried thinking of something else. Something like, why I would ever think Mikael would hurt me even though he’s done nothing but protect me this whole time. If he wanted me dead, he wouldn’t have carried me all this way to a cottage.
He would’ve just left me to find my own way to get away from the Forest Seekers. It’s not like I don’t appreciate him for what he as done but I still feel as if he’s keeping information from me.
“Iliana?”
Mikael’s voice shattered my thought process as I gave a slight jump, forgetting that he was even in the room with me. I looked at my calf and saw he had wrapped my leg. My attention then focused on the poor state of my dress. A dim light was cast over the cottage.
I turned my head to look at the warm glow that hadn’t been there before. He had lit a fire. “Iliana? Did you hear what I said? I asked you if you wanted to lie down. You look extremely pale.”
I swallowed dryly as I nodded, just the simple motion making me nauseous. Standing shakily and holding onto Mikael as leverage, I slowly made my way to the long couch in the corner of the room. After a few agonizing moments we finally got to the couch, and Mikael began to help me lay. Once I was settled, Mikael covered me in the bearskin blanket that had sat on the arm of the couch. I forced myself to relax and enjoy the warmth of the blanket, but with the pain in my head and leg, it was slightly challenging. It then dawned on me that Mikael had nowhere to sleep.
“Mikael?” I called out softly.
“Yes?” he replied, standing up from the chair I was previously in. He made his way towards me in four long strides.
“Where will you sleep?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"In the chair. Just relax. You're safe now. They can't enter uninvited." Mikael whispered back. My brow furrowed. He had just as bad a day than I did, if not worse. He sprained his ankle, but kept holding onto me and he fought off most of the Seekers.
But out of the both of us he got hit the most. I could see the new stitching in the side of his arm. My eyes followed the jagged slice from his shoulder, to just past his elbow. I know he got hit in other places, but those places were covered by clothing. I cleared my throat, immediately regretting the decision to do so as a wave of pain flooded my senses, pushing away any thought i had wanted to say. I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply as I heard Mikael's footsteps.
Suddenly my feet were lifted by strong hands, and my eyes shot open as I looked at the end of the couch to see Mikael flop down.
He gently let my feet down to rest on his lap as he let his head fall back, closing his eyes. He let his hand rest on my foot while my eyes took in the image of him. He looked like a beautiful warrior, who'd come home from a war, tired and wary. Before long his muscles relaxed, and his mouth parted as he took in a silent breath. I watched him as he slept, finding his rhythmic breathing strangely calming.
I soon dozed off and the tempting offer of sleep pulled me under into the darkness.
